Goddess Durga visits the earth for only four days but seven days prior to the Pujas, starts the Mahalaya. 18th September was Mahalaya. This is one such day for which all of us in West Bengal wait throughout the year.
Received a call from Diba da, the 2009 Busa owner three weeks back. The voice from the other end said "Boss!! I will be back in India on 14th. Lets plan a ride on 18th, Mayalaya". Accordingly the meeting point and destination was fixed.
Rides:
2009 Suzuki GSX1300R
2009 Honda CBR1000RR
2008 Honda CBR600RR
Hero Honda Karizma R
On the day:
We decided to meet up at Bagiuhati Haldirams at 7:30 in the morning. The place is 65km from my place. So, I had to start up at 6 in the morning. On route I received a text from Fireblah saying that the Ninja is not coming. Anyways, reached the meeting point a good 25 minutes before the scheduled time. Those who came to Haldirams to have a breakfast were gazing at me and my attire. Reason- Someone at this hot and humid weather of Kolkata is sweating like anything but is still wearing a heavy jacket, a gloves, a full helmet and something (read knee guard

After 15 minutes Diba da came. Thank god!! all of a sudden the attention shifted to his new 2009 Hayabusa.

Originally this was supposed to be a more than 500km trip but Fireblah had to go to office so we decided to make this trip a short one. After crossing Belghoria expressway we faced a huge traffic jam. It took more than 30 minutes to cover a stretch of 2km.

We were maintaining a steady speed around 90-100kmph. The other bikes were often doing above 150kmph in the empty stretch but all of them were waiting for me to catch up with them. Finally we reached our destination - Hotel Hindusthan at Gurap
Couple of more pictures from the ride.
