  • Mumbai to Hyderabad

This was supposed to be a long weekend (19-21st September) and I decided to go to Hyderabad to meet friends. I booked the rail tickets but they were not confirmed. I decided to go by bike and gave my bike for oil change and some other fixes on Friday. On Friday evening, I discovered that my train tickets are confirmed but still decided to do this on bike.
Planned to start at 4 AM. Slept at 1AM and got up at 4:20, checked my mail and there my boss told me that he want me to be in office on Monday.
Still decided to go ahead with the plan. Started at 5 AM.
Took first 5 minute break at Pune. Second break was at 10:10 AM. This 10 minutes break was for wada pav and tea. Solapur was 96 kms from here.
Third break was at Umarga, it was little longer of 25 minutes at a 12:45 to 1:10 pm. I started after this and after 5 minutes it started drizzling. I was not prepared for this but luckily it stopped after 5 minutes.
    Reached Hyderabad at 4 pm.
Total distance was around 715 kms. My odometer doesn’t show the distance.
Roads are good till Pune and from Solapur to Hyderabad. After Pune it is a single carriage road. Between Pune and Solapur it has got potholes. Some big enough for a bikerider to fall. But I was lucky.
Ate Hyderabadi Biryani, went to Nagarjuna dam and a very big waterfall on Sunday. It is 150 kms from Hyderabad. Went there in a hired Tavera as there were 6 of us and although we had three bikes, people were not really prepared to do 150 kms one way on bike (I was ready)
Returned to Mumbai on Monday as had to attend the office. Bike is in Hyderabad and now I have to decide how to bring it back.

    Short Tour Log Approved

Hoping to see some pictures from you of the ride.
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Congo Dude, on ur second successful Bike Tour...

The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.

wow! u r hardcode! second trip of 700+ kms in less than 12hrs? kudos man! pics please
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

thx vikas, almost all of the road is single carriage
road till pune is ok, bikes couldnt take expressway but even nh4 is ok, although single carriage, but just before pune the stretch is awesome city on both sides and an uncovered road goes underneath which is quite a
                    sight
from pune to solapur road is not all that good, there are some serious potholes, but it is not terrible either, after solapur road again turns good and 100 kms before hyderabad it turns awesome
i encountered only one major traffic block which i could pass because i had only two wheels, four wheelers would have wasted atleast 15 minutes there
weather is nothing to write about, not too hot, not too old, although i was tanned due to continous strong sunshine
