Six of us had planned for a vizag trip from 25th to 29th but due to personal reasons many of them could not turn up… And only 2 of us were left.. As we wanted to go to this vizag trip as a group, we postponed the same.
I spoke to ravi Kiran regarding their Karnataka trip and made some research whether we can plan for the same… but as either of us knew the local language kannada which was very important we finally fixed up for a Pune trip that too at the last moment ….
As I had been to pune last rainy season I knew most of the places.
Here goes my Trip Log:
Day 1 – The journey – Total Distance – 582kms
As I work in shift (2pm to 10pm), I was at home by 11pm and started off ironing my clothes and packing my luggage. Even Shashi came down to my home by 11 so that we can start off together early in the morning.
After 1 hour of packing and going through the route map we slept at 1:30am so totally had a 2.5 hours sleep (as usualfor all our long rides ) As planned, we wanted to leave by 4 am and as usual we could start from home by 5:15am . Riaz escorted us from his home (balanagar) up till the next 50 kms. It was chilling out there and lot of fog around… It felt great traveling in that thick fog. Even though both of us were wearing our DSG jackets we could still feel the chilling breeze to our legs. We stopped there for 10 mins and after bidding a good bye to riaz, we started off for the remaining trip… (btw riaz very much wanted to come to this trip but could not make it )

Took the first break at zaheerabad Ghar Dhaba and had our break fast…
Having some hot upma and tea(it felt great in that temperature, especially for shashi, as he kept his total body stiff due to the cold for that first 150kms ride ) we started off again for our journey. We planned to take a break every 150kms but we could not travel more than 70 kms in a stretch due to heavy traffic on highway (weekend rush I suppose) and also the average speed we could maintain was only 50kmph

The roads were good, except for some stretches in Karnataka, even hardly there were any puncture shops until we reached Maharastra border.
On the way, it was a spectacular scene looking at the sun flower fields it felt like a biiiiiiig yellow carpet laid across the whole place. We stopped by at a sun flower field which was just side by the road and took some pics.

In the next few curves, while negotiating the corners shashi felt that his rear wheel alignment was not correctly done. We thought to stop by Sholapur and search for a Hero Honda service station. After a long search in the hot sun and asking many ppl on the way, we at last reached a HH service station after travelling 17kms, seeing our riding gear and AP number plates everyone around was asking whether we came till there on our bikes, and where were we heading to etc… The rear wheel was aligned and we headed back to Sholapur highway. We stopped by a dhaba and had pure north Indian food – Alu Paratha with curd

Started off from dhaba and with some short breaks we reached Pune by 7pm traveling the last 70 kms in the dark which we wanted to avoid. After a long search for a decent lodge with good parking facility we ended up at National Lodge (before Railway Station)

The first thing i realized after checking in the lodge was that I have put my camera batteries charger adapter but forgot to put the charger base where I would be keeping the batteries for charging.
But thankfully the batteries were completely charged

Had dinner (the famous VADA PAV) as we were planning to leave by 6am for the lonavala and khandala ride the next day we hit the bed and in no time we were into deep sleep
