,i was thinking about Kunthala falls.whenever i wanted to go there and made plans, something used to come up...always...so i decided no matter what i will go tomorrow...called up my friend and he readily agreed.we were actually supposed to go to ooty from Hyderabad via Bangalore and Mysore but one of my friend's had sudden personal problems so it was canceled...so the next day i woke him up at 4.i looked out from the balcony and not a leaf was swaying from its place.i thought it wouldn't be so cold and i didn't take my jacket.just my gloves, helmet, water bottle, goggles, puncture kit,and biscuits..went to his house at 5 and we started at 5.15...as we were riding though kompally i.e the initial stages of NH7 from Hyderabad...we could feel the cold weather cutting through our bodies..after riding even at45kmph for 30mins,we just couldn't take it so stopped over for a cuppa coffee...
when it was 6,we started again. The highway was absolutely stunning and damn wide..we stopped once in a while to take pictures.we stopped every 50kms to give the bike a rest.all through the way i saw these SOS phone booths and we stopped at one of then to see what its like.its solar powered and just has one button and when i pressed it,it just turned green
...i waited for any voice or something but got bored and we hopped on and continued....As we were going along i wanted to test my top end with pillion.as single rider i touched 142kmph...the thing is i weigh 95kgs and my friend weighs about 75.so we just ripped from the 5th gear itself and we went till 135kmph without crouching....the highway was so good that we were ay continuous cruise speeds above 100kmph.
the bike was going amazingly well without any hints of stress anywhere.however since the front tyre was thin ,even the smallest of stones can veer away its direction.midway we stopped at a dhaba.the concept of a dhaba for me is stop at the place where there are more number of people.lolz.cause i figured food will be safe where there is more population.we had dosa and coffee....and asked the owner where is bathroom..he said " vaha side pe jao...hai na badi bathroom khulla khulla" and i went to the trees...

then there was nothing else but wind and the trees and ducks!!! i still don't understand how come ducks are available on highways..i stopped and tried to catch one but it outran me..i kept a biscuit in front of it and when it approached slowly i tried taking its picture in close up mode...but all i ended up was shooting its butt...so we just left the duck and went ahead.
we almost came to Nirmal when i remembered there was a dam to the left side of the area and went ahead...took some pics there too..it was beautiful...over the horizon it was difficult to differentiate the blue sky with the blue water....spent some time there chatting and resting and we were on the road again.the road from Nirmal was a nightmare...enormous potholes and countless pedestrians and lorries...phew!!!...my baby went in 2 or 3 holes and thankfully nothing happened to the rims...
En route they were laying out new roads and i was seeing sand in PINK color for the 1st time.we reached a place in highway where we figured we have lost the way and after asking the locals came to know we have come forward by 6kms....when we reached the exact spot we were told to take left and a small narrow road was shown...there was not even a board to tell that we have to take a left turn..it was 8kms inside to reach the falls...but that 8kms took me 30mins...as riding on that road was like playing a NFS on ps3...i was avoiding all the holes and mud and stones and what not....
after reaching the place at 11,we paid 10bucks to the toll gate and parked the bike.i thought we would go directly to the falls with the bike but instead i had to climb down 408 steps which was easy of course...the view was superb...though wished more water was falling down.it was like a small lagoon in middle of mountains.we had to trek a little to come down to the foot of the falls and again climb the rocks to reach the top.the rocks were slippery at some places.we played in the water for sometime and took some snaps.
while climbing back i was almost having a heart attack.since i wasn't having any exercise back at home my heart was pounding to the max when i almost reached the top of the steps.i laid down at the base of a tree stone...and even there in that moment of exhaustion where i could feel my heart beating its crap out and blood flowing to face...i took snaps of trees..
..after a few minutes we headed back towards the bike only to realize i lost my left glove.i dint wanna go down again for that, but still thought of checking the place where we rested.wasn't there.anyways we started off at 1pm.came back at 6pm and my bike came to reserve just then giving me an average of 34kmpl at constant speeds above 110kmph....also on the way i lost my sweat cap..think it must have flew off from my pocket when i was riding pillion..anyways it was a good trip...
next month am going to pune lonaval khandala from Hyderabad..and December its vizag araku...January it will be ooty from hyderabad via Bangalore and Mysore.then my last trip will be leh ladak in April or may before i settle for my MBA...here are some pics guys...
