stop by bekal(take the old highway from Kasaragod),taliserry,Mahe over the NH 17 for good views of the sea and if you are a foodie then stop by at Zain's restaurant-Calicut for a slice of mappila cruisine!

          Thanks for the tips.

Can you tell more about the old highway? Looking at the maps (Bike Trip - 2 - Google Maps) I see only one NH17 marked.
Bekal fort and beach is marked on NH15
If I need to get on the old highway, where would I start?

I don't think the 'old highway' is an NH-15.But i guess you have to travel into kasargod town and take a left near the Alukka's showroom that will take you onto the old NH-17(also known as 'Bekal road' locally) towards Bekal and later on to Kanhangad joining the NH-17 onward on your journey!

well if you are having ample time to spend on your journey!.Then head over to Kaup lighthouse & beach(It comes a couple of km's prior to kaup town, you have to take a left from the NH),try out Malpe beach and st.Mary's island(Try some seafood at paradise isle its real yup!),stop by Maravanthe beach on the NH-17 for some amazing views of the sea and river on either sides of the road.
