  • a bit of off-roading

it was another boring week after the solo ride i had on 25th....

so i decided to go for another...

took an off from my work.. n luckily a friend of mine(shakeel) was also free, so he chipped in...

where we wanted to go?it was decided long back...

we wanted to avoid the long, sometimes boring, rides on highways.. so we wanted to go for a route less taken

hydroxide@pune helped me out and suggested me this route

the route was pune-mulshi-tamhini-kundalika valley- amby valley- lonavala - pune

(man i must admit, he knows each n every bit of this route, he gave me a detailed instruction list, which i printed on a paper and carried with me)

so we set out for our trip early morning... around 7:45 from chandni chowk...

we stopped somewhere just as the ghats were about to start before mulshi.... there were some 4-5 huts at a distance and a small path (which the inhabitants use to walk to n from their huts) leadin to those huts... there was a almost dried up stream there.... we decided to take the first off-roading attempt of this trip n reach the water... we couldnt get to the stream but had a great ride on that "so-called footpath"....

    shakeel doing some off-roading

    where ever i may roam

trying to get out of a big hole hidden in the bushes

we decided not to waste any more time there and moved on...

our next offroading was on the "banks" of mulshi lake....

and i must admit it was a picturesque place... took some snaps there...

    @ mulshi

then we continued the same road till tamhini village .... after that we tool the small bridge (as instructed by hydroxide)on the left that leads to lonavala....

the road is really in bad shape in this part...

but we were greeted with a green canopy my mother nature n cool breeze to add to it...

it was so "khali-khali" road... anyways i liked it

did do a bit of "here n there" type off-roading before reaching kundalika valley....

ppl, those of you who have not been to this place n if u can bear with the bad roads... u need to be here to know what is "KUNDALIKA VALLEY".. A MUST VISIT DURING RAINS....
after enjoying the scenic rockscape of kundalika valley we moved on....

kundalika valley... waiting for the monsoons

    kundalika valley again

but we were still in search of water as our steeds were desperate to get into it...

finally we got it..... got into a small, swampy n slippery stream... took some great off-roading videos... had lots of fun... this was the best part of the trip.....

then moved on with wet shoes and jeans....

    i
    finally....

n no tym we were thrown into real road mein off-roadin experience...... guys my butt n back were prayin for mercy while i rode on that road... it continued for about 30 kms... the moment we saw smooth tarmac we knew amby valley was near...

then enjoyed the sharp hairpin turns on our way to lonavala....

took some "maganlal chikki" from lonavala n returned pune by evening....
    THE ROAD ...
