Wonderful stuff, Sarab! These are the kinds of ride that I absolutely LOVE. Super stuff, this. I am very much interested to read more about Kasol and see photographs of the same as I plan to visit Kasol real soon.

And it's real cool to see snow. This year, I didn't manage to experience any snow, unfortunately. But, good to know that you had your share of the winter-chill this year. Slipping and falling on the black-ice is something that one needs to experience first hand. It just CANNOT be written or expressed in words. It can be very dangerous, yes, but it is utterly fun too!

Now, don't keep us waiting for an eternity and bring on the log and the photographs. I am sure you have much to say, write, share with us all.

    P.S:
    1. Please don't post in 'bold'.
    2. You are going to get a call from me soon; would like to meet you personally.

Sad to see you couldnt do Jalori because of the black ice. But since you went back to Shimla, and from there to Tattapaani, you could have come to kingel (which is around 20 kms and quite lower than Narkanda) from Sunni (7 km before tattapaani where you come across a fork) and from here continued your route via sainj-ani-jalori. Narkanda is notorious fom black ice trust me! This year has been highly unpredictible. unfamiliar whether patterns.

Nonetheless, another superb route you tool. Chindi is a fantbulous place! And surely that must have been the highlight of your ride. Looking forward to the pics.

Also I see a Baghi milestone in your pic. Did you by any chance hop off to thanedar/baggi?, or is the pic at the Narkanda - Thanedar road barrier (which i presume it is).

Thanedar comes if my favorite destinations in himachal, I have fallen in love with it, specially after the last ride! But then, thats another story alltogether

This looks interesting. But do tell us one thing... were you adequately clothed? Seeing you just in jeans in all that snow makes me feel that you were pretty cold on a bike there!
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

at that time i really dont have any idea about the alternate route to jalori, n since after we had dangerous encounter with snow(we witnessed a accident in which maruti 800 fell off the tarmac on the curve and luckily an angel tree became the saviours of aboard passengers, just minor injuries. we were like oh my god !!!!) my pillion get scared of snow and we both decided to stay away frm that black frozen devil

nopes we couldnt make up to thanedar/baghi. n yes that milestone pic is of narkanda-thanedar barrier, yaar the roads ahead of narkanda is in horrible condition.(for two wheels specially)

hanji chindi is a great place being a fact we dnt get enough time to explore this place but surroundings of our guest house was pleasurable.

sir m equipped with two layers of inners beneath that blue jeans and a layer of plastic polythene above socks, which works really good.
for upper half three layers of woolens+wind cheater+dsg.
we observe that the chilling effect( fog also) in hilly areas are considerably lower than plains in terms of riding a bike in this winter season.
