  • Tour De Nainital ... with an accident in the end :(

    TRIP : lucknow - nainital - lucknow
    DISTANCE : 870 kms total.
    1 rider , 1 pillion and a BEAST.

hi everyone this is ashish from lucknow ... i am studying , recently bought a pulsar 220 dtsi.

i got my exams over on 4 th feb ... so planned with a friend of mine to hit a hill station ,everything went cool ... we decided to take both the 220's [he also owns one] but due to family trouble in my frns house ... he dint take his bike . so i decided to take him as a pillion

we left lko on 5th at around 6am ... reached sitapur at about 8 am ... as the roads were really bad , gave my babe little rest and had tea in b/w and changed the numer plate as in made a legal.

shahjahapur at around 9.30 am ... road was good. Then we headed towards bareilly ... had our breakfast over there....
then came lalkuan , kathgodam .... and finally Nainital @ 2pm.

we already had a room booked over there... so directly headed towards hotel woodland.

checked out the mall road nd flat over there ... had a lot of momos and chowmien.

it was very cold over there .... came back at the hotel .. locked my bike and slept after having chicken masala nd tandoori roti .

decided to leave on 6th although we had our booking till 7th ... but as it was an off season there .... so there was nothing to glue us to tat place .

early in the morning took bath visited hanuman mandir , naina devi mandir , himalayan darshan and nainital view and left nainital after having breakfast @ 11.30 am.

got my bikes tank full @ haldwani and headed towards lucknow . everythng was going fine when a bolero guy near bareilly tried to overtake a truck ... i flashed light at him ... he slowed down so i thought its ok to continue riding... but just after 2 3 sec he again started oovertaking .... and this time he didnt gave me 1% of the road .... pushing me into the muddy road [ kacha road] i was around 110km/hr and due to my bad luck there were HUGE three potholes.... i survived 1st pothole nd then came the 2nd and 3rd one ... my bikes handle went for a toss ... and I+ my frn landed up sliding on the mud and stones on that road....
got my ankle twisted was not able to walk .... knee and stomach badly bruised ... my palms nd face got saved by my riding gloves nd lid....

pillion also sufferd some knee injuries...
my bike got broken completely from left side.

rode back to home for around 280 kms after the accident.
now i am ok ... got some injections and medicines.
hope its not a fracture in my ankle ...

Phew! That is a bad crash. Try wearing knee protections and high ankle boots as well. They will help you more in crashes. And keep larger margins to be safer.

@smoker n doper (what an ID!): Read about your crash on the other thread as well. But, good to know you were not badly injured. Good ride you had there, except for the crashing part, ofcourse.

Also, please check those image links. Links directly from social networking website like Orkut does not work here. Instead, either upload the photographs on xBhp Autopictorials, or onto a third party image hosting website, and post the IMG links here. That way the images would be visible in this thread.

@smoker n doper: Please remove ALL the photographs in which you are riding without a helmet. We DO NOT approve of it, here. You can very well face serious consequences because of this.

                Thanks,
                -Aryan

Feeling sorry for your crashing part.
                  Remember one thing
Knee and elbow guards are must for touring along with lid, gloves and jacket.
They will definately save you from major injuries during a crash.
                  Thanks for sharing.
                  Ride safe

Nice log.. but felt sorry for the accident. As pointed out by Aryan and Varun, you should alway wear all the riding gears so that you are safe at least from your perspective ...

anywys i hope its not a major one, and with god's grace everything will be alright...

Put some good snaps also..( not of your broken 220.. )..

gr8 pics...good log but u can do much better... pics along with the log instead of just as attachment add more fun to reading it...

hope the damage on the bike is not much...also hope u recover soon...

wear proper riding gear from next time onwards...a armored jacket and knee guards will be helpful in long rides....

till then njoi and ride safe...
sigpicGirls are like roads, more the curves, more the dangerous they are.

To ride or not to ride?? is a....
                      very very stupid question....
