  • Exploring the virgin beaches and lesser known parts or konkan

My office colleague Rahul and I had been planning a ride to the unknown beaches in konkan for a while now, the plan was on the verge of being canceled, but our luck somehow pulled through. We were to start on friday morning and return on monday, but due to leave issues we were unsure about the trip until 8pm on thursday. I was stuck in the office till 12am and still had to pack. That left me with 3 hours of sleep before the ride.

Nice guys - reminds me on my own solo 'virgin beach hunting' trip a few years ago on my RE. I started the west coast right after Udipi and checked out many beaches till Ganpatiphule. I loved Tarkarli (Malvan) and Nivati too. I actually hired a motorboat in Tarkarli and headed south along the coastline to check out more beaches not accessible by road! What an amazing thing that was, the experience was something I will not forget ever.

The next time, try going to ganeshghule beach after crossing Ratnagiri and going towards goa. I have never seen a beach like that in my entire life. It is not a long beach, but more like a cove spanning over half a kilometer. But it can be a pain to reach, so asking the locals would be help. I ended up going through an off-road way and wearing out my rear sprocket due to that!

I also reached Vengurla late evening during that trip and I stayed at a small guesthouse near the dock (end of the road). Perhaps the same place you stayed! (There is a small bar there too) And I also took pictures of the fishing boats early next morning
