Nasik to Ratnagiri on my Pulsar 220 DTS-i : Details

Since Pulsar 220 was launched I always had a dream in my mind to ride to Ratnagiri on my bike which became true on 23rd December 09.

23rd December : Trip meter 0 kms. - I woke up early in the morning around 5:00 am and got ready quickly for my dream ride. I was very excited and could not believe that the day had finally arrived which I had been dreaming of since many months. At 6:00 am I started my ride from Nasik by NH-3. It was very cold that morning due which I was riding very slowly for 1 hour. After I passed the beautiful Kasara Ghat the Sun had rised and the wheather became a bit warm.

        Kasara Ghat

Around 8:30 am I stopped at Parivar Garden restaurant near Shahpur for brakfast. Due to many traffic jams near Mumbai I reached Panvel very late at 10:15 am.

Then I turned right to Goa Highway NH-17. The wheather was nice and the road was good with very less traffic, which made my ride more enjoyable. Passing through Pen, Kolad, Mangaon, I reached Mahad around 3:15 pm where I had my lunch at Kamat's restaurant. After 2 hours I again stopped for some snacks at Sangameshwar around 5:15 pm, till then I was very tired and Ratnagiri was still 50 kms away.

        Mumbai Goa Highway NH-17

Taking many short-breaks in between I finally reached Hotel Vivek in Ratnagiri at 6:30 pm.
My odo reading was exact 500km. The whole day had passed very quickly and I enjoyed each moment of it.

My room at hotel Vivek - Ratnagiri

Details of Hotel Vivek Ratnagiri - Economical Double Room Rs. 750 + 4% taxes also includes complimentary breakfast.
        Contact No. 02352-222162,220689
        Check out time 24 hrs.
It is one of the best hotels to stay in Ratnagiri with nice and clean rooms, good service and very tasty food.

        Beautiful Ratnagiri

On 24th and 25th I saw few wounderful places near Ratnagiri such as Thiba Point, Black Sea, White Sea, Light House, Ratnadurg Fort
and rest of the time I enjoyed swimming at Ganapatipule beach.

Back to Nasik on 26th December

        Route : Ratnagiri - Kolhapur - Pune - Nasik.
        Distance : 612 kms.

26th December : Trip meter 0 kms. - At 7:30 am in the morning I started my ride and decided to take another route via Kolhapur then by NH-4
to Nasik. I reached Kolhapur at 11:00 am and had breakfast at some Hotel. In front of me was Pune Bangalore Highway NH-4, I turned left and
continued towards Pune which was around 230 kms.

I reached Pune at 4:30 pm Nasik was still 220 kms away. I was very tired by then, riding slowly I reached Nasik at 11:30 pm. My odo reading was 612 kms.
I was very happy that I reached home safely as this my first ride on my first bike.

        Total kms. done : 1344
Total petrol required : 2000 Rs. ( 42 ltrs. of petrol approximately )

The seat of Pulsar 220 is bit hard, you can ride comfortably for around 250-300 kms.
