Studies, problems, and what not that life can throw at me, it did. Was missing the feeling of riding, not thinking about the past not worrying about the future, just rolling through the highways and leaving everything behind. The wind caressing my body and my bike carrying me to a place which was definitely better than the place i was leaving. New faces, new surroundings, and most importantly the end of the orthodox life that i have been going through...
This ride was not pre-planned, it was my arbitrary decision to go for it. Called up Neil, Kusal, Sandy and a few others whom i wanted as company. Neil's exams were going on so he was unable to go, but the rest agreed and a date was fixed. Did google'ing and found out the route, and other info that i needed. The place was decided, Bethuadahari Wildlife Sanctuary. Tried to book the forest guest house but it was already full and for vacancy we had to wait for another 2 weeks, but i decided that we'll not cancel our trip and we will go there and arrange something on the spot and luckily everyone supported me(this is what happens when your companions share your passion and knows u so well
), The fun-factor doubles-up when you have the right blend of people with you. Met up with the guys, had a small meeting. And we were all set to go.Here are the guys and their steeds who made it to the final list -
Kusal(P200)
Abir(P150 Dts-i)
Souvick(P150 Dts-i)
Tinku(Yam R15)
Sandy(RTR 160)
and
Me( Zma 'R)
All of us decided that we'll met up at my place at 12 in the night and start off early. But as usual most of them were late. Kusal was the first one to reach my place, than the others followed. By 1pm, everyone was in my room. None of us were able to get any sleep because of the excitement...
Day 1
After packing up. And double checking the luggage and the route. We ventured out into the streets. By 4am, we were cruising through the city streets, heading towards the national highway. Passing through Rajarhat, and finally leaving the city.

Our first Photo-break
We kept on rolling, from groups of buildings to scattered tea-stalls, slowly vanishing in the rear view mirrors. And finally all that could be seen was the highway and lush green fields on the two sides of it. After sometime we decided to take a small break. Clicked few pics and after few rounds of cigarettes we were off again. Sadly we had to take another break shortly, because Sandy's RTR had a puncture. So around 6am, we reached the nearest Puncture repair shop we could find, and gave the bike for repairing. In the mean time, we sipped on few cups of tea, clicked some pics, and also checked the route.

Checking the route
After the repair was complete we were off again. And our next stop was a road side dhaba, which was around two hours ride from the Tyre repair shop. Bethuadahari was just one and a half hours ride from where we were, so we relaxed and filled our empty tummies with some delicious 'Aloo Paratha's and 'Lassi'

Our bikes lined-up
After breakfast, we started riding again and reached Bethuadahari Wildlife sanctuary. Tried to get some rooms in Bethuadahari WLS guest house but it was filled. So now we were on the verge of spending the next 3days on the road when suddenly Souvick remembered that he had a uncle who lived nearby
, so he called him up, and he came within 30mins. Than he took us to a nearby guest house and arranged for our stay. The guest house was nice and the care-taker and the owner was very friendly.
Butterfly near our guesthouse
After taking some rest, bath and lunch. We decided to enter the jungle. We spotted few monkeys, dears, and lots of Butterflies. The jungle is in itself a spectacle, supporting such a variety of living forms.

Monkey
Only a nature lover will know the feeling of the smell of trees, the buzzing of birds. You feel like you are in a different world when your in the jungle. Everything is so calm and still, but at the same time there is a sense of uncertainty and mystery in it. The whole environment just takes u in, and enthralls you. We followed the common trail to explore the forest. It was getting dark, so we decided to head back to our guest house.
We had 'Maggie' accompanied with tea and biscuits for evening snacks. Than me and souvick went out to buy dinner. After completing our dinner, we decided to end the day and all of us went to sleep. And with that Day 1 came to an end....
More pics & Day 2 coming up soon...
