You can make certain mods to the pillion seat like adding some cushioning, etc. to make it more comfortable for the pillion, I am sure. Ofcourse, the ride to Leh/ Ladakh will be a treacherous one, it would be tough at places, but ultimately these are the parts that you and she would remember and cherish together for the times to come. After all, it is not every alternate month that one gets to ride to Leh!

@Manan: Here, he just hinted towards Uttarakhand, and you show up in a flash! Tremendous!

@Mik - I agree with Aryan. Now that you both have done quite a few trips together so she had already got a hang of things to expect on such rides. I guess 2-3more rides and she will be prepared for the big ride.

And I believe touring is nothing serious for you, it's embeding in your blood now. For me, i'll say 'Bike! Bike! and Away"

Well! You could have asked atleast....

@Aryan/MG: I know, riding to Leh with her would be the best experience. However, here are the problems.
          1. Cushioning of pillion seat would mean that the saddle bag will not fit in properly underneath the grab rails and over the seat. Already it fits tightly.
          2. Luggage space. Carrying stuff for 2 people over a long ride means more luggage space. Specially for girls. Right now, the saddle bag works. Even if i add a tank bag, that will barely carry the cam and some other knick knacks. Need some custom panniers i guess. Will that make the bike rear heavy ?
          3. On steep gradients going downhill, i am extra careful coz falling is not even an option. The trouble is that the saddle bag over the seat creates a slightly slippery surface and she completely falls over me. This does create some pressure on my palms. Hmmm.. i guess i really need some kind of panniers.

          Any thoughts would be welcome
Ofcourse, i would love to go with her. Because of her being behind me, now i am a much saner driver. Believe me, i never cross 95 on tours, even on the best of roads

@Manan Bhai:: Yaar kumaon kya yaad dilaaya . The good friday weekend is coming. Lets roll. I have two options in mind
          1. Chopta or
          2. Dalhousie and as far as upto Sach pass as possible. Check yogesh sarkar's journey on google. It drives me crazy.
