dude... when did u come to my state?? i was in pune a few days back (on 19th and 20)!! Though my ride didnt end very well..

It is called "Neera" only..!! And it is made from coconut..if it is taken after evening hours then it makes you a bit high..

Oh and btw, nice teaser pic.

"neera" is made from "taad" or palms.It is taken in early morning only.
whatever is taken in evening is "taadi" & it is nothing but fermented neera.
& it goes beyond "bit" high if taken in ample quantities

we had it in afternoon.it wasnt coconut water..some odd taste it had...but i had 6 glasses


are you sure?i was in normal condition only dude..cause again in evening i had 4 glasses before leaving to hyderabad..

Initially we thought of starting early morning at 4am and reach by afternoon but as luck would have it,our friend in pune has got a meeting and so would come home only in evening around 6pm.so we got up at 6 and started at 7.30am...we slowly dragged along at 70 to 80 kmph as we had all day and may as well test the bike's mileage since my mechanic tuned my bike according to the sound of the engine...the bass beats were awesome..mind you my baby has clocked 13k kms

I was planning a trip to Pune, Lonavla, Khandala, Mahabaleshwar, Panchgani etc.last year too, but every time I would plan to go there, my sis would land up here!
So how far is Lavasa from Pune? What about the other places like Khopoli etc.?
How was NH9? Last time Vishnu, me etc.were on our way to Bidar we found the road narrow&full of trucks. Please describe the ride&especially timings.

on the way there were some horrifically crashed vehicles...the rear seat of p220 is really a disaster.huge people like us cant sit for long rides.added catalyst is the seat cover given by the pbk..they make the seat very hard...as i said the whole NH9 was a single lane road..no divider nothing.we reached solapur by 2pm and had a meal fit for a king.The road from solapur to pune was full of disgruntled maniac drivers... here are the pics till we reached pune

the distance between hyderabad to solapur is 300kms
solapur to pune is 250kms
total of 550kms

there are no petrol bunks from karnataka to outskirts of hyderabad.while we were coming home at 12 midnight,we were all most out of reserve petrol and just as we crossed AP border there was an Indian oil bunk.a total of 160kms highway without a bunk...nuts !!!

the road (NH9) from hyderabad to solapur are good...but from solapur the road conditions are worst and so are the drivers...there are cattle taking up one side of the road and that left no place for oncoming trucks and 18 wheelers...at some places traffic was halted cause of these situations.the oncoming traffic keeps on coming and if a slow truck is in front of you ,you end up following it without being able to overtake it for a minimum of 5 minutes.however the night journey while returning was cool and thanx to HID,the road were clear and better.

a small piece of advise from my side would be:

1)travel pune to solapur only when there is daylight
2)in summers like these,always best to carry a waterbottle or buy one at a dhaba as soon as its over
3)always keep full tank petrol (never know when a bunk would come)
4)light luggage as traffic jams are common and you may have to ride on the stones and pebbles on the either sides of the road.

we were going slow so we reached pune at around 6.30pm....but while returning we started at 4 and reached solapur by 7pm...had dinner and reached hyderabad by 12.30pm

no offence to any pune guys or anything but the biryani in pune is not the same as in hyderabad...it was kinda different

Well there is a place in Pune which has nice authentic Hyderabadi Biryani!
Damn you guys came and went too! you should have atleast pinged us!

and btw neera is a drink from Palms, when extracted late then it gives you a kick.... its by far the best way to cool your heads in a hot summer ride


PS: Neera at certain areas is not what you think it is, but thats a different story altogether

man,hyderabad doenst have everything...like that butterfruit juice we find only in bangalore and this neera only in your area...
it was a quick visit bro...just had 4 days free including travelling
