Every trip from up there is just increasing the desperation level in me. The last time I was in Himalayas was way back in Jan '08. Thanks for sharing the experience with us.
@Mik-Didn't knew that you too are Bengali. Good to know that

Lovely stuff, Mik. Looking at Sangla-Chitkul photographs makes me so nostalgic and also makes me want to go back NOW! Although, I will be riding out to Spiti soon, but looking at the photographs from up there is always something special.
And good to see that you stunned the bong travelers with your "paaglami".
@dcs: It is nostalgic, ain't it!?

Well Chitkul is more beautiful than Kalpa. But kalpa has that quaint feel - romanticism is in the air thereOriginally posted by kurtrules View PostGood one there Mik.. You must have enjoyed Chitkul more than Kalpa
..Or is it the other way round

Ah !! so thats what was playing in my subconscious. After penning down the title i was constantly thinking, where have i heard this before ..Originally posted by happybiking View PostIs the title inspired from Ruskin Bond's book "Time stops @ Shamli" ?
Nevertheles, thanks for sharing about this beautiful place!!! Lovely
Ah ha!! yup there are those common points of interest for all riders. Infact, we saw a bulleteer in astars gear who was also following a similar route and stopping at the very same places.Originally posted by dcs View PostDear Mik,
I would be very prudent in saying- I envy you. But nonetheless, its good to relive those wonderful memories from the text and the wonderful photographs.
Last year, Aryan and me did Delhi Kaza Delhi, whereby we included the Pin valley and Kalpa too. Incidentally. most of the places which you have shot a photograph of, were the ones from where we too clicked. and not only that, most of our other mates, would too click there too. The passage that was tunneled out of the rock (before Bhawanagar), the Water fall past Kalpa, the terrain at Sangla.....they are just the same. Loved them. Thanks.
I enjoyed reliving those wonderful times through your write up and clicks. Keep touring.
All Cheers

P.S: How badly do I need to ride!!!
The interaction with the children was refreshing, a far cry from todays mobile toting smartass kids. Getting them to do the xbhp sign was easy apart from the little one who was only interested in taking pics. Infact !! he soiled my lens a bit.Originally posted by darkknight View PostThough all pics are outstanding I like the though behind this one :

can imagine what you much have told the children when asked to do the X for Xbhp

He he.. for touring, north it is..Originally posted by neil.jericho View PostAmazing pictures. This is what we miss out on staying in south india !
