      @Rony:

      1 Suggestion (dont mind). Try to cover the entire leg, foot during treks, you never know what kind of plants, insects and animals are around. Anything can scratch you legs while walking and anyone can land up in trouble.Specially during monsoons (being the breeding season for many insects).

      Just FYI, in monsoons, there are a different breed of mosquitos at mahuli which are really small, like the size of 2-3 mustard seeds but if they bites, it creates a bad red patch on ur skin which would not go for atleast 5-6 hours.
      Hahaha.. I dont have mind JJ ... bro no1 is as afraid of insects as I am !! ...... I was the one with full pants and sport shoes ... those are my colleagues who chose to wear shorts and kittos !! ...... btw I didnt knw abt those mustard seed sized mosquitoes ...... thnx for the info ~!

      And yeah waiting to check out your pics too !! ....... Upload them soon

                been there done that (some 4-5 years back), it is really a nice place to be in during monsoon.

                We walked all the way from Asangoan to Mahuli Village and then hired a guide to take us there, it was a real difficult trek for us since most were first timers but we all made to the top in around 3 to 3-1/2 hours.

                While returning there was one guy who suffered a severe cramp where he was unable to even bend his knees to walk with our support and we have to carry him on our shoulder for the rest of the climbdown...it was real hell in those condition, but once we were down it was a great feeling..

                thanks ron for reminding those days..

                in between mumbai guyz if u plan a trek to sahyadri during monsoon...plz count me in too
                It's not the hours you put in, it's what you put in the hours!

                  Oww ... that happens with me a lot of time ... climbing down is a big problem ... Recently I did a 1 hour climb down trek from Matheran's sunset point to Dodhani village which was steep and tiresome since we started in afternoon at 4pm ... all the time the sun was facing us and our body had turned into a radiator .... but the best part was as soon as we reached dodhani we were greeted with a pleasant shower and gusty cold winds ! (we had heard lot of thundering on the way but didnt see any clouds as they were on other side of the mountain) ... Trust me it was like heaven to get wet in the rains after such treacherous trek .... sharing few of the pics from my matheran trip here --> Picasa Web Albums - Rohit Jain - Matheran
