  • NERDs Attack Shimla

After a looong break, NERDs finally decided to burn some rubber and ofcourse some fuel, after numerous cancellations they decided to head towards Shimla.

    Start Date - 25th April 2010
    End Date - 28th April 2010
    Issues - NONE!

These trips keep proving the facts that RDs are not unreliable provided they are well kept,

    Some pics -

Some more pics to be posted soon...

@Rajat: Good to see someone traveling on an RD, no less! However, the lack of any sort of log disappoints me. If possible, do put in a paragraph or two, it would be good.

P.S: What does NERDs stand for? I believe the "RDs" in the "NERDs" signify the RD350?

    Thanks.
    :)

great to see the 2-stroke Legend on touring once again it makes me feel good. So how many RDs were present in this ride, and I also see one RX kindly. It would have been a delight to hear the exhaust notes of RD on hills

Who says RDs are un reliable.. We rode a complete stock, fully restored HT to chandigarh from delhi for the sjoba, completed the rally ( rider and pillion ), and rode the bike back. It did the whole thing without even a minor hiccup. Though we were overly paranoid, but after that, man it can go anywhere.

Only mods were knobby tyres from ceat, and the handlebar was raised slightly for better control on the hills.

Aryan - I am still awaiting details from the group, I was not an active rider in this ride, actually you can call me the public relationship / online content manager cum member of the group

NERDs stands for NCR Exotic RDs (and NCR is for National Capital Region)

Thanks Shivanshu, and true, the peace would have been shattered for sure

jd666 - Actually a couple of guys, some that I met in Hyderabad and a few in Delhi, there is a special misconception in certain bike group/community/region that most RDs rebuilt/maintained in the north are unreliable, so this info/line was for those people

Wow! This is interesting. How smooth and easy was the ride... some details etc... about the quality of the ride, heating issues, speeds...
The Wheel was a great invention; Two Wheels with a Motor in between was even better!

Wow JD u into rally's as well..... and seriously my dream is to own a RD and tour on it.... touring on my RX has never been a problem and I can say that touring on RD would be fun.

Rajat bhai bring on some more pics as well. Was by any chance Rajiv Bhai was also there?

Wow Rajat i still remember your RD thread it was amazing and its been long time man that we have met.

And specially when all the RD's are built by Mr. Mehndiratta himself so there are to be no problems and above all he was with you all on the trip

Wow! Red RD with the alloys look neat....

i am sure that superbike spec rotor will enable the rider to stop on a dime!and one of the best expansion chambers i have seen, in terms of build quality!
Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle.

Yeah man! what a thread that was, lost it in the server crash, but no worries, soon I would be writing another write up for my second RD rebuild

Yeah Sunny...starting up with write-ups for NERDs, real biking scene is on hold for me till I am in Hyderabad.

The breaking is definitely crisp and yes those chambers are custom build

missed ride due to the exams and a poorly maintained bike will be on the next one for sure.
