I remember Vishwas saying very specifically that niether of the group was wrong, it was just the final deadline that everyone was worried about.
Pune folks had to back on a specific date, and Mumbai folks had somewhat the luxury of time.

What I was criticising is something else... I am criticising the basic courtesy of planning together and playing a cat and mouse game all the while.

What went wrong in nutshell:
1) Mumbai & Pune had decided to go through a common tour
2) Midway Mumbai decided to play around with departure time, knowing very well that they had 'planned' a meet up somewhere
3) Despite that, Mumbai decided to take a detour which would mean another day lost for meeting in Srinagar
4) The same mistake of a late departure further messed it up completely

Like I said earlier too, point 2-3-4 are mistakes ONLY if you agree that point 1 was a misout.

I will not indulge in mud slinging, but I strongly criticise the lack of preparation.
- Riding with loose baggage, worn out tyres, is not exactly what I meant by preparation.

In all I would say it was two individually brilliant tours, but collectively a disaster tour.


Both of you know that I was not keen on over planning, for the simple reason that it boils down to this. A plan is a framework to know what all is to be covered and what all can be chucked in case of a mishap.

My Crib was that it was "planned" to be a joint tour, and both teams wasted a lot of time for whatever reasons. I can crib that Mumbai got delayed, I can also crib that Pune didnt go to Amritsar.

- Not that I approve of what happened otherwise, but still.


PS: This is the update thread, any more bashing can be jointly done with a pitcher of God drink face to face!

Please see my "Vishwas quote". He is clearly criticizing us Mumbaiwallas of lack of preparation and he is slinging mud all the way from Kashmir to Kanyakumari (and a little bit fell in China too). I object your honour!

Everything and everything you say is fine, but I had to be in Mumbai, in office on 16th. What you guys did was certainly more fun and were able to do as your profession allowed you to (God bless Motor!).

and don't worry about missing out the first view of Kashmir valley, trust me I saw it while coming back, wasted my five seconds! Our version was better ;-)

@Raman: Man, you stood by me when I REALLY needed, there was no way I would have completed my ride on time without u.. Thanx man.
