Sorry for asking this dare@. But what is the place you will be starting and what is the approximate price you are looking for. If this is given then lots of help will pour in I guess.

Sorry for not giving the full details, i am looking out for a ride in and around close proximity to mumbai, say around 100 - 120 kms max.

Basically we are all guys so our main intention is to go to a place where we get lotsa water to enjoy and then drink and chill out in the evening, and come home the next day.
The days might be Departure - friday morning, arrival - saturday afternoon or 2nd one Departure - saturday morning , arrival - sunday afternoon.

yes i have heard about lavasa, but we want to have it somewhere closer, still will keep lavasa in mind. Thanks for the info aargee

Malshej Ghats....Check out my signature for details....that was non monsoon season...at this time the place is a lush green!!!

Had I been you MATHERAN would have been my choice...excellent weekend gateway

@ happybiking - yeah even matheran can be a good weekend getaway...
any place/hotel that you know of over there...

Nopes no clue about hotels, but surely you can go there and book as over the phone they blabber any rates they feel, its better face to face...

I went there for a quick fire one day ride from pune...was back by dusk...but it had a lot of resorts...Try booking in advance as monsoons are the prime season there. You have beautiful view of lake,cliffs,waterfalls as well as one can enjoy narrow-gauge(toy-train) & horse rides!!!

You got to be kidding mate.

anyways monsoons have not yet started to actually warrant any trip just as yet.

wait for a couple of weeks for real monsoon getaway.till than enjoy the resorts hospitality.
