Thanks Makky. And yes, I was very proud to flaunt that flag around Europe.Originally posted by Makky View PostFantastic Haroon!
I have no words to describe! The log and the photos are very impressive. I am so glad to see the tri-coloured flag on that box!
I have finished the teaser and the Day 1. I need to hit the sack and be up by 0400hrs to leave for an entrance tomorrow and yet I don't feel like ending it here. However, I will be back tomorrow! I am to this hooked thread because it is simply irresistable!
Hope you did well in your entrance.
Thanks Frank. Wow, I didn't realize I had uploaded more than 400 pics.Originally posted by frankpilli View PostFantastic trip Mr & Mrs Haroon. followed your trip right from day one. the heavenly beauty of Europe was perfectly captured by your pics . saved all the 400+ pictures. really a dream ride on ur dream bike. Thanks killer_instinct. Believe in your dreams and work towards it, it will surely happen. For me till last day of college I used the BTS bus. Even a TVS 50 moped was out of my dream that time.Originally posted by killer_instinct View PostCame back from tri State G2G and saw this now.... An Amazing end to a very beautiful journey.
Thanks for fueling my desire to get a Bimmer someday.

in your footsteps
Hi Haroon,
Your photos and writeup was indeed most enjoyable. Fabulous that even your better half was with you to enjoy the world of BMW.
Taking off from where you left off , feel happy to inform you that in a couple of days I am travelling to Austria to ride BMW bikes in the Tyrolean Alps. Bikes to be ridden are the GS 650, 800 ST, 1200 GS, K 1300 and finally the S 1000.
The grand finale will be at the BMW days ( the BMW biker meet ) at the village of Garmisch .
If ever you are in Pune , dinner is on me ,
Best Wishes,
Prashant Gosavi

Thanks Prashant.
Wow, so you are heading for the BMW Motorrad days in Garmisch. Thats a must do mega-event for all BMW affectionados. I am sure you are going to have a blast. Are you doing demo rides from BMW or renting the bikes separately (from Ayres, Edelweiss etc) and then heading to Garmisch. Have lots of fun and please keep clicking the camera.
Many thanks & appreciation for the invitation. Well received & accepted

Haroon Sir,
I have been following this thread from a long time and kinda feeling sad to see it end
You lived the dream which many of us see in broad daylight!
Waiting for more such trips from your side to keep us inspired in believing in our dreams
Thanks,

Thanks Arni. Me too feel sad that its all over and how I wish I lived in Munich as every week-end you can easily do 250 to 300kms in different directions and have a blast.....Originally posted by ArniMarine View PostHaroon Sir,

What's so enjoyable riding abroad are...
1. Less pollution on the ground level
2. Weather supports better; I mean, its cool during summer & I agree its horrible in Winter while the viceversa happens in our country
3. Relaxed/Tension free riding & one can enjoy the scenics, open air & motorcycling
Well its possible here too, but for the tension free rides.Skill is what keeps you on a Motorcycle

I shall also make a few more additions from my experience.Originally posted by aargee View PostWhat's so enjoyable riding abroad are...

1.People follow rules to the book. That itself makes it so much more enjoyable & stress free. In my whole trip I only used my horn twice- Once while fumbling with my glove I accidentally hit the horn and Second at a signal the driver in front of me was on his cell phone & didnt see the light turn green. This is a true fact & I am not exaggerating. So no constant blaring of horns like in our country.
2. In the unfortunate event of an accident, when a few crucial moments will make a difference between life & death, they are very well prepared. If required they will even air-lift you by helicopter.
3. Male & female toilets along the way are very very neat & clean
4. Roads & vehicles are well maintained & well marked.
5. Drivers in general are always courteous to other road users. Besides, almost all of the bikers you come across would have undergone some sort of safety riding course and know how to ride their bikes slow or fast following all the road rules.
6. Pedestrians have the right of way on zebra crossings, but you wont find them dreaming about something & suddenly crossing the road like animals.
7. In all our routes, we found a lot of cyclists (with riding gear) climbing steep passes in the dolomites etc and they also ride by the book. So naturally there is mutual respect.
8. You would not find a local politician or heavyweight bull dozing thru traffic etc.
9. And BTW, the cops are also trained to be very friendly & polite unless you mess with them.
Thats what makes touring all the more enjoyable there
