If you are heading towards Jodhpur, ensure you go to the omelette man at the old city clock tower. There is a fake one there too, so ensure you go to the correct one recommended by the lonely planet India. Must go, Must eat for tourists

Really? Not sure, if I can make this route; I'm taking SH...
Udaipur-Nathdwara-Ranakpur-Kumbalgarh-Sadri-Nadol-Somesar-Khod-Gundoj-Pali-Jodhpur-Jaisalmer; so it depends how long it takes for me to reach Jodhpur. If I'm able to reach in about 4 hours from Udaipur, yes, may be I'll try. But again, ONLY if its in bye-pass, can't get into the city. But will keep you posted Satyen, if I make it Tks for the info.

Great!! so you reached Udaipur, we will definitely meet you at Jaipur and treat you well don't worry

Well I hope I am not late for this.. but I would really like you to change the route from Sadri take Falna-Sanderao(where you will meet NH 14) -Pali-Jpdhpur. The route which you have mentioned might be in bad shape because of bad rains. I know because my native place is Falna

Tks; I was wondering why no one checks the Jaipur G2G thread for quite sometime. I'll keep you posted where I stay.

Wednesday was dedicated for Udaipur site seeing; believe me, absolutely beautiful, wonderful, marvellous, exotic, fantabolous day!!! Have loads of pic, but will post them eventually

Today morning left Udaipur, took a SH for a change; what a ride I'd this morning from Udaipur at 5:30 (ignore the first 45 min as I'd lost some way) to 12:30 when I reached Jodhpur; roads were passing through city, village, forest & finally desert. Absolutely fantastic day & this day is when I realized my dream to...JAISALMER

                Pics from Udaipur city...

Its 70-75 most of the time; I occasionally burst for overtaking, that's all. Need to save money for gas!!!

Deejay - I did take the Sadri-Falna-Pali-Jodhpur bye pass & headed to Jaisalmer. Roads were ok & patchy at some stretches. Guess what? After today's ride, I'm renaming my C250R to Two-Wheeler Volvo!!! What an amazing suspension, small potholes are simply not felt at all. Brilliant work by Honda!!!

Abhii46 - Any place is made beautiful only by the people who live there; on that aspect, I did meet all good people; I hired an auto to get around the places & he was very helpful; good thing was, I hired a guide at the palace & that was the best thing I did; I didn't know how the 1-2 hours passed by; so amazing things I learned about the history of Udaipur & I was able to get a feel of how the times were during the King's period.

Yup; I begin to suspect the moment I entered
                            1. I asked a man at the entrance at which way to city; he not only mentioned, but followed me & asked to stop only to hand over his card & say he could offer his services for SAM & accomodation. Since I'd already booked at Moomal, he had to leave.

                            2. Two young lads (may be boys of 16/17) on a unregistered splendor asked me to stop, but were just polite; I assumed it was for asking about my C250R, but then, they too handed over a card for rendering their services when they knew I'd already booked at Moomal.

Here at Moomal, they offer one evening at SAM Sand Dunes package for Rs 500 & cab for Rs 600 !!! But they knew I'd come by two-wheeler so they said, they would arrange for a guide & he would come by this morning to meet. Not sure how much he's going to charge. I'm thinking to refuse anything more than Rs 250.
