  • Trip to Leh - 20th to 27th September.

    Hi xbhpians.

I'm doing my first trip to Leh from 20th to 27th September. The rains have stopped but its starting to get cold. So I guess this is probably the last time of the year before the roads get snowed in.

The trip itinerary is as follows:

Day 1: Start from Delhi at 5 a.m. Ride to Manali (560 kms. - roughly 10 hours)
    Day 2: Manali to Sarchu (225 kms - roughly 5 - 6 hours)
    Day 3: Sarchu to Leh (255 kms - roughly 7 - 8 hours)
Days 4 & 5: In and around Leh, Pangong Tso, Khardung La, etc.
    Day 6: Leh to Sarchu
    Day 7: Sarchu to Kullu
    Day 8: Back to Delhi.

Right now this may very well turn out to be a solo ride for me, but if anyone is interested, please feel free to join in.
Also, if you have any suggestions, please feel free to post them.

    Thanks

    Regards

    Aashir

Day 3 is not 5 or 6 hours. If Rohtang behaves the way it has been over the last few months, you are looking at something like 12 or 13 hours minimum(It took us 18 hours over two days of riding in pretty bad conditions), if you leave as early as possible from Manali.
      Same with Day 7
I would suggest that you should keep an extra day as buffer. Also, try to arrange permits before hand in Leh to save time.
