^^^ See if you'll be able to do all these in 10 days

BTW, you forgot Chittorgarh or may be you don't want to do; ride from Udaipur-Jodhpur or viceversa via Kumbalgarh-Sirohi is MUST, don't miss the relaxed ride

Also remember, ride from Jaisalmer-Udaipur, Jaipur-Bikaner-Jaisalmer consume a day with medium paced (read nearly 100). Hope you've accounted for it.

      Udaipur palace & shopping consumes almost a day;

IMHO, the activities planned at Jaisalmer itself takes about 2 day in relaxed fashion. All put together consumes nearly 5-6 days by now (2-Jaipur + 1-Jaipur-Jaisalmer + 1-Jaisalmer-Udaipur + 2-Jaisalmer)

I'm not saying, IMPOSSIBLE, but just think over

Haldighati: 100% original sharbats,Gulkands,Gulab jal etc at low prices (This place is around 50 Kms from Udaipur, you will need atleaast half day to visit)
        Sajjangarh fort
Choubhuja Temple (I guess you meant Charbhuja temple, it is around 60 Kms. from Udaipur, nothing worthwhile unless you are really interested in temples)

        2. jodhpur
        Mehrangarh Fort : Biggest fort
        Umaid Bhawan Palace
        Jaswant thada
Also check out 'Bullet Baba' its around 50 kms from Jodhpur, on the way to Udaipur.

        3. Jaisalmer
        Camel Ride
        Jaisalmer fort
Sam Sand Dunes / Khuri Dunes (must drive in SUV)
        Desert
        Patwon ki haveli

        4. Bikaner
        Junagarh fort
        Lalgarh palace
Deshnoke Temple : Lots of rats
        Sweets

        5. Jaipur
        Elephant ride
Amer Palace (Amber fort) – Sheesh Mahal
        Hawa mahal
        Jal Mahal
Bhangarh Fort : Ghost fort (This would require a full day, it is around 100 Kms. from Jaipur)
Jantar Mantar: An ancient solar observatory with collection of architectural astronomical instruments. Worth a visit.
Jaigarh Palace: It is claimed to house the worlds largest man made canon.

        6. Ranthambore (?)
        Safari
Please read my suggestion in red above.
Personally I also think that you would NOT be able to cover all the places in 7 days.

          Thanks Guys.

          I've got couple of questions.

Aren't Kumbalgarh and sirohi alternate routes between Udaipur and Jodhpur. Only 1 can be covered on the way. Can you post a route map in case you have something else in mind?

Also, I'm not planning to do Jaipur - Bikaner - Jaisalmer stretch in single day. Planning to pit stop at Bikaner.

Here's the itenary which I have now. suggestions are welcome.
          11-Aug Sat : Jaipur
          12-Aug Sun : Jaipur - Bikaner
          13-Aug Mon: Bikaner - Jaisalmer
          14-Aug Tue : Jaisalmer
          15-Aug Wed: Jaisalmer
          16-Aug Thu : Jaisalmer - Jodhpur
          17-Aug Fri : Jodhpur - Udaipur
          18-Aug Sat : Udaipur - Pune
          19-Aug Sun : Pune - Bangalore
          20-Aug Mon: Reserve day

I need help in crossing Mumbai. It this route fine?
Also need help crossing on Mumbai Pune highway. I have absolutely no idea about this. Landmarks etc are welcome. I read somwhere that old highway and new expressway cross each other somewhere. Should I be careful somewhere not to go on the expressway after this common stretch?

If you leave Jaipur by 5:00 AM, you can reach Jaisalmer by 4:00 PM easily, unless you've reasons to hold back at Bikaner

Too much time at Jaisalmer; if you reach Jaisalmer by noon, you can finish off Sam by the same night & reserve next day to explore Jaisalmer & third day you can push off

Damn simple. Just keep to your left & follow ONLY NH4 sign board. Once again, this is also in my mind, don't know how to put in words

There're crystal clear sign boards, when in doubt, keep left.

Thanks for the route map aargee.

I've altered my itenary based on your feedback.

11-Aug Sat: Jaipur (Collect bike by 8 am, Spend entire day)
12-Aug Sun : Jaipur - Jaisalmer (leave by 5 am, Reach by 5 pm. Head off to Sam)
13-Aug Mon: Jaisalmer (Spend entire day)
14-Aug Tue : Jaisalmer - Jodhpur (Leave by 5 am, Reach by 10 am)
15-Aug Wed: Jodhpur (Spend entire day)
16-Aug Thu : Jodhpur - Udaipur (Leave by 5 am, Reach by 10 am)
17-Aug Fri : Udaipur (Spend entire day)
              18-Aug Sat : Udaipur - Pune/Mumbai
              19-Aug Sun : Pune/Mumbai - Bangalore
              20-Aug Mon: Reserve day

Should I cut somwhere and spend more time elsewhere? Maybe cut a day from Udaipur and add to Jaipur. Whatsay?
Though I'd prefer not to stretch on last days since I'll have to stretch from Udaipur to Pune/Mumbai.

I left Jaisalmer around 5:15 & reached Jaipur by 1:30 PM (took another 1 hour to ride within the city; last 30 Km to the city was mess)

Since you're doing the other way, it WILL be breeze. But remember...
if you can reach Jaisalmer by 3:00 PM checked in the hotel, then its good to reach Sam dunes by 4:30 (takes about 30-45 minutes ride). Stay at Hotel Moomal. There will be lots of agents luring you on the way, but refrain from them. Moomal is RTDC (very popular for the fact that PM's & Presidents have stayed there). Not only on that grounds, but your bike will be MORE THAN SAFE with more than ample parking space + complimentary B'Fast available. Let me know if you make up your mind staying there.

Try to spend one more day & visit Chittorgarh fort which is about 2-3 hours ride from Udaipur

Mentioned above; Or spend one more day at Jaipur; I missed out, but from TrustVishwas Ji's log, I regret to have missed those places at Jaipur.

As a matter of fact you can do Udaipur to Pune & Pune to Bangalore in 2 days or if you've stretch yourself a little, you can do Udaipur-Bangalore in one day & save the remaining one day somewhere else in RJ (like Bikaner for instance Karni Mata Temple about 30 Km from Bikaner enroute from Jaipur - Bikaner - Jaisalmer)

Rajasthan is like heaven in the monsoon, you will enjoy riding here...August is going to be windy & be prepared for that.

@Ganesh - Hope you are doing well now...plan for a ride sometime in the winters

Where? You mean in the desert? Forget it; come back to Jaisalmer & have a peaceful sleep.

Winter will be good time, but occasional clear skies & partial clouds, but no rains...probably, cool to ride even in the afternoons. I love that
