    Spiti Planning

    Hey All Bikeheads!

    Its been a while that I've hot the roads and now is the time. However, a lot of blogs, tips and advises from a lot many people have left me confused. Can someone help me plan a full fledged itinerary for Lahaul-spiti. The dsame would be done on a C5

          what is your plan bro firs tell us that.... how many days you planning to and how many of you are planning it?

            I'm really not sure as to where to start from, all I got to know from a couple of blogs and posts is that, the first stop is Narkanda for me!

            I would have 5 days in hand. I can extend upto 7 days too, but only is there is something that should not be missed upon and requires one full day!

              extend it to 7days and try to stop ahead of Narkanda, like Rampur, on first day. So that you have ample amount of time in Spiti Valley. Also which month you planning to go, in rainy season some nullahs go very mad out there.

                yup...planning the same thing

                had a word with one of the xbhp members as he did this trip pretty recently. Got a fair Idea about the fun and frolic during the trip. He suggested me to do it in 7 days so that I can cover Key, Kibber and Komik as well!

                    shipki la is a border post, having gotten its name from the Shipki village which lies on the other side i.e. Tibet. The route is Khab - Tashiganj - Namgia village - Dogri post - Shipki la

                    Can you go there? You can get a permit from Pooh if you have connections in the army. Else-wise it is very difficult to obtain a permit. What you can do is ride straight up to the dogri post and request the officers there to let you through since you are a traveler and you had no information on any kind of permit. If lucky, you'll be let through.

                      This sounds good..however, I'm trying to find out some connections...lets see where do I land up...fingers crossed!
