  • NOC Required on inter-state tours?

Is NOC required for interstate tours? What does the law say?

Myself and a friend have planned a trip involving atleast 3 states. I have made trips in the past but don't know the laws involved.

AFAIK, Permits are required only for going into some north-eastern states. For the rest, all you need to preserve is fuel receipts whenever you fill up. That is enough proof that you are a short-term visitor to the state. No NOCs are required as long as the stay in non-home state is < 1 month.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

No, NOC is not required if you are crossing through different states.

NOC is not required, you can carry all your petrol fill receipts and toll tax receipts will be enough for the proof of your short visit to the particular state.

Brother, NOC is not required as stated by other members... But to be on the safer side carry all updated documents including PUC certificate and also all the toll tax receipts petrol fill receipts. Nothing else is required i can assure you. Police generally checks your driving licence and the bike documents atleast in the eastern states . I am not quite sure about the north eastern states.. They have strict norm for example @2 boys cannot ride in one bike.
