  • GOA to CHENNAI. Route Suggestions Please.

Hi. I joined xbhp couple of months before I bought my bike. For a (very) long time I've been a quite spectator and an avid fan of the Tourer section. I'm currently in Goa and I'm relocating to Chennai. I'm sending all my stuff by truck probably, except of course my bike.

I'm planning on a solo trip on my Apache 180 from Goa to Chennai somewhere around 23rd of this month (July). Now, I've done quite some trips before from Goa. Amboli, Dandeli, Pune all returning on the same day or the next. But I've never done anything of this scale. So, I'm gonna put down my travel plan and questions. Any input at all would be greatly appreciated.

So here's the rough route that I'm planning on. My current plan is a 3 day travel. (Major stops in capital)

    PANAJI-Karwar-Yellapur-HUBLI-Adargunchi-Shiggaon-Bankapur-Haveri-Ranebennur-Davanagare-CHITRADURGA-Hiriyur-Sira-TUMKUR-Nelamangala-BANGALORE-Hosur-KRISHNAGIRI-Vaniyambadi-Ambur-VELORE-Arcot-Sriperumbudur-POONAMALLEE

    Link to Google Maps

    Day1-Goa to Hubli
Day2-Hubli to Bangalore (Might spend a couple of days In B'lore)
    Day3-Bangalore to Chennai
Any suggestions on the destinations and road conditions?

According to my research on the road conditions,
Goa-Karwar: Good (travelled on this road a lot)
Karwar-Hubli: Good (according to couple of friends)
    Hubli-Haveri: Not sure
    Haveri-Chitradurga: Bad patches
    Chitradurga-Bangalore- Very good
    Bangalore-Chennai: Very good

    Some questions.
    1. IF, for some reason the vehicle becomes immobile, will I get a tow truck? or what other sort of assistance will be possible?
    2. This is kind of off topic. How do you guys convince your parents about long bike trips like these? Any tips?

    Thanks

That's the benefits of exploring new routes This route has less tolls, good enough when compared to the current ongoing construction between K'Giri to Vellore

But remember, if you want to reach NICE, Bannerghatta, Marathahalli etc, Kolar route is not advicable, as you've to come all way through the city

                  @aargee.
                  Thanks for the reply.
Hows the road from b'lore to chennai via Chittore? And what kind of construction is going on on the vellore route? Would that be a bad choice to take that road now?

Do you mind if a 10 Km of not so bad road in 300 odd Kms stretch?
