    Route Query Approved and Moved
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

I had done this way long back, started from Coimbatore and reached Cochin (There was a Cricket Match between India & Zimbawe - I think it was Marliner or somebody who had a new shot invented by then (lift over the keeper)) and we started from Cochin and came via some route where we had to ferry our bike to the other side of a river...not able to recollect the places in between, but a awesome route.

We reached a checkpost by around 4 and we were asked to turn back as that route was unsafe in dark is what was claimed, we said we would cross the hilly terrain in 2hrs and bribed them. We were 2 in a Fierro, thick forest and no human found around for almost 40kms, mid of the way our bike got punctured , the guards had warned that these have lot of Big Cats. It was getting dark and were waiting for some help. It was dark that we could not see anything even at few feet, we just climbed up on a rock and had to keep quiet.

There came a light with guards in the jeep, we were screemed at and they helped us to reach valparai get the tyres done up and brought it back, fitted and they accompanied till the check post ...that was one hell of an experience we had

It is easily more than 10yrs now, but still I remember the night, we stayed back in Valparai and came back the next day. After coming back, every time I see a news about these big cats getting into villages in Valparai, I would get goose bumps
Never Give up on something that you can't go a day without thinking about.

      Cheers

I have done the Kochi - Pollachi route. Before the start please confirm the opening time of check post at Athirapally ... I think it will be open by 7.00am ..

There are some bad stretch from Athirapally to Valaprai, but nothing to worry about. Also there will be checking at Vazhachal check post mainly for liquor ...

The ride through the forest is a bliss ... You will love it .Also the same for Valparai to Pollachi with 41 hairpin bends. Make sure that you start early and reach Pollachi by evening ..

The Munnar - Kochi route is good ... The road is full of twists and turns ..

All the best and Happy riding...

        Thanks
