it is just 3 hrs ride

take left near nelamangala and continue in nh 48
u do not need a lodging as it is just 3 hours ride but there are decent lodging in hassan

Bangalore-Ooty can be done on Any bike, be it 0.1ltr or a litre class bike. U find decent enough fuel stations in Gundlupet and good enough fuel pump before ooty(if you are doing Masinagudi route, other wise if you are doing Gudalur, you have bunks there as well) the maximum distance without a fuel station from Gundlupet to ooty is 80kms. And quite frankly i dont see any bike which cant do 80kms on a tank full. About restraunts , how many would one need for a 80-100kms stretch

Regarding timing restrictions in the forest area, the gates are open from 6AM to 10PM. Even if you are doing after dark, the forest officials would let you inside along with a four wheeler or a bus for safety. If ridden sensibly you can make it to Ooty even if you leave by 6.30-7 at the Bandipur checkpost.

Regarding Stay: you can find a lot of good accommodation based on your budget. Google for more details.

Don't tell you were joking to ask this! Come-on.. Ooty is just a stone's throw away! Even a ninja can do Bangalore/Hassan- Ooty without needing to refuel enroute! If you are so doubtful, I say you'll get an Essar fuel station right in middle of the forest, although they don't accept cards! Mazak mazak mein, we reached Ooty couple of times just to have lunch on a lazy Sunday afternoon!

Gas stations- full tank in Bangalore will make you reach Ooty
Lodging- Enough available
Must visit- Coonoor I can remember, for others, Google is your friend!
En-route- If you are non vegetarian, Gundlupet offers mouth watering delicacies.

You dont have to worry about road condition, fuel station, lodging etc. Just try crossing the forest before dark. Enjoy the trip.

Bangalore to Ooty distance is nearby 270 km and route is Bangalore-Mysore-Ooty. Bangalore to Mysore road is excellent four lane road. Bike driving is fine on this road. But Mysore to Ooty road is not so well and it's passing from mountains so bike riding is something dangerous and horrible. Hiring car from Bangalore is good way to reach safely in Ooty.

The gates are open from 6 AM to 10 PM in the forest. if you are moving after this time, then the forest officials would let you inside along with a four-wheeler or a bus for safety. Bangalore to Ooty distance is around 260 - 280km approximately. But Mysore to Ooty road is not good at all and it's passing from mountains so bike riding is something dangerous. I suggest you hire an Outstation cab. Because travel's drivers are experienced so it might be a good choice. Recently, when I travel to hill station in Telangana then I hired Outstation Cabs in Hyderabad. Felt safe and I enjoyed all sightseeing while the driver is on driving.
