    Bangalore to mysore trip in my beast,need help fellow XBHPians

    hi all XBHPians
    i am planning a one day trip from bangalore to mysore to meet my friend
    i am planning to leave at 5 30 am
    i have done many one day trips but i want some updates on road conditions and traffic on sundays since i had not been to mysore from past 7-8 years
    Any suggestions on safety and other things i have to take
    care will be most welcome
    i am planning to leave at 4 in the evening back to bangalore so that i can reach before sunset to avoid night riding

        Did the same trip about 20 days back.

        I took NICE Road from Yeswantpur. There's only one place you need to be careful while taking this route:-
        On the BLR-Tumkur highway, there's a small left turn for Mysore.
        If you miss it (and continue towards Tumkur), you get a U-turn only after 13 kms exact! Personal Experience!

        Rest, the roads are good.
        Things to take:-
        1. Plenty of water/glucose/gatorade.
        2. Some snacks.
        3. You'll encounter CCDs and KFCs after crossing Wonderla ahead of Kengeri till Mandya.

        As Praful said, Sunday evenings will be very busy. Expect B2B traffic on the return leg of the journey!

        Have a safe ride.

          i was a looking for a calm ride
          what time do you suggest me to leave mysore if i want to avoid the traffic
          or is it a bad idea choosing mysore for a one day trip

            If Mysore is *your* choice just to ride(thought, the purpose is to meet a friend), then would not be a great one. Leave around 2PM or after 10Pm to avoid some on street nonsense.

            Or you can take the Mysore-Kanakapura-Bangalore while returning which has less traffic, comparatively. But its two lane roads FYI.

              My 2 cents. Watch out for speed breakers on this road. You will encounter a few without any warning signs. Pretty difficult to notice when its dark. And avoid traffic times. Apart from these this road is a delight to ride on! Take care and ride safe..
              We are miles away from the routine.
              Headlights rise over the horizon.
              Pierce the morning fog.
              Cut through the clutter in our minds.

                i was thinking of going for a long ride this weekend and choose mysore so that i can also meet my friend,both purpose would be taken care of and i will try to leave by 3

                      Interceptors very rarely are posted on the NICE/NECE stretch. But they are almost always there on Mysore road to catch weekend speedsters. And there is also a fixed speed cam somewhere around RVCE.

                        not in particular mysore road but i need a long stretch which is traffic free

                        which other road do you feel is good
                        how about bangalore to nandhi hills
                        there are no interceptors after i pass bangalore international airport which is on the way to nandhi hills i guess

                          Two pages of responses for Bengaluru-Mysuru route enquiry

                          Adding my bit, @OP, just ride out. Like already mentioned in the thread Sunday evening traffic will be more but a bike should be able to squeeze through and maintain atleast 70kmph outside town limits.

                          SH17 is the best bet. Just slow down a bit when you enter and exit towns so that you can avoid nasty surprises in terms of speed a.ka. bone breakers. Ride very carefully inside Mandya town.

                            Just two weaks back i came from B'lr to Mysore, Road is very good from Kengeri. The road inside b'lr is under construction so it's too worst there.
