    Urgent Route Enquiry, Bangalore to Thalassery (Tellicherry)

    Dear Xbhpians,

    I searched for similar threads but did not get the answer I was looking for. I urgently need to know from fellow xBhpians which route is safer or that has fair road conditions.
    • the route from Bangalore to Thalassery via Mysore(SH17) & Irrity
    • the longer route from Bangalore to Thalassery via Gundlupet. I am aware the roads via Bandipur National park are closed from 9PM to 6AM.


    My ride is an RE TBTS 350. I also want to know if anyone recently did a Hyderabad ~ Bangalore stretch. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

      Unless you plan to start afternoon or in the night, why bother about National park timing?

        That doesnt answer my question.

        Im leaving in like 24 hours, so if the timing takes me via the national park during night hours I will take the diversion. If anyone knows road conditions that will be great. I am aware of the dangers ghat roads offer during day/night.

          Gundlupet route is bad compared to this

          Bangalore - Hyderabad is best enjoyed with SBK...that's the road condition

            Well, the gundlupet road is the longer one like you said, but is quite scenic. I suppose you'll take the route thru bandipur-Sulthan Bathery and state highway to Thalassery.

            The route from gundlupet thru bandipur-wayanad is excellent. No issues anywhere all the way till sulthan bathery. However i don't know the road conditions beyond sulthan bathery to your destination.

            Note that national park timings are 6am to 6pm, and not 9pm.
