  • My first long solo ride

    Hi

I am planning to ride my 200NS to a few famous places. I have 4 and a half days in hand.

21st Dec afternoon to 25th Dec Night.

    Day 0 : Bangalore-Chennai (~320 kms)
Day 1 : Chennai - Pondicherry (See the sunrise next morning) (~160 kms)
    Day 2 : Pondicherry - Thanjavur - Munnar (~450 kms)
    Day 3 : Munnar - Ooty (~240 kms)
    Day 4 : Ooty - Mysore - Bangalore(~270 kms)

Thanjavur is added for a special reason , want to visit my college (SASTRA University) and the Big Temple.

All suggestions regarding routes are welcome. My major concern is Day 2 , can that be done in a day , I will start from Pondy by 7 am and will halt in Thanjavur for 1.5 hrs.

Road conditions from pondy to Munnar ??

ATGATT! There are many wonderful riders/drivers out there who would intrude in your riding space without any notice. Be prepared. Stay Safe.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Why dont you cover some more distance on Day1 after seeing the sunrise in Pondy and halt some where between Pondy and Thanjavur ,am not aware about the exact distance though between pondy and Thanjavur .

If you have nothing special to do in Chennai, then go directly to Pondy on Day 1 via Vellore (this route is better). Day 2 go to college and stay there or something. Day 3 Munnar. Day 4 Ooty and back home.

the roads from pondy to thanjavur is 2 lane and you can't rip there. We left pondy by early noon and reached thanjavur by late evening in Xylo. I would suggest Bangalore to Pondy on Day 1, Pondy to Trichy - Day 2, Trichy to Munnar - Day 3 and then your regular route. on Day 3 if you feel that you are covering distance quite fast then goto Kodai from Dindigul and then head to Munnar from there
