Hi guys ,

Its been 7 years since i have been biking, and since i upgraded from a Fazer 125 to the Apache, my heart has been set on escaping the congested Kolkata city limits ... And although i have been on several driving trips to Garpanchkot, Odisha ( Puri ), and several small others, my biking passion have always had to be restrained because of "Public concern" that involves long rides on a bike == fatal accidents



Now its almost 1 year and 7 months since i bought my ride and being the final year of college, this time i am hell bent to make it happen ...

Two of us, me ( Apache RTR 160 ) and a friend ( Pulsar 135 ) are planning a trip to Darjeeling and the neighbouring places within January . We know it will be quite hell cold but that will only add one more point to the challenge list to be overcome

Now quite UN-conveniently , a family occasion has popped up on 20th Jan, and now we are left wondering whether to take the attempt before or after that ,because of GATE xams , our trip cannot extend much into February strictly.

Also we want to keep 10-14 days in hand for a comfortably spaced trip, for all-we-can-visit... Since this is going to be a one-time-only helluva rare xperience for me .

So the options :

Set out on early ( before 5th) Jan and return within 18th...

Or set out on 21sth , and having lesser days in hand , return within 1/2 days max of February.


Regarding the feasibility and planning of places which can should be/can be visited, any help and suggestions is welcome. Please help us plan out this thing and turn it into a reality ....

And also our bike engine oils needs a refill, and both of us have been running on stock SVC recommended oils for so long... Please advise on what to opt for ( available In Kolkata that is , and the Shop to get it from Please )

w50 standard ruining the revvability of RTR is what i am reading and thoroughly getting confused since in Wellington all Motul ones seem to of the 15w50 grade ..... Also i want to opt for Semi-Synth only ( dont want any oil-dissapearing issues en-route ) ....
