Route Query from Bangalore to Vellore

Hi,

Thinking of doing a quick one day ride to vellore golden temple tomorrow. I have already done a trip to yelagiri on hosur - krishangiri route. It was a seamless route - but a bit boring one. My friend suggested the route through KGF. How good is that Hoskote - KGF route to vellore? Do any body have recent updates on that route??
