Dude, this probably is the rarest of threads I will find on the entire internet. . My home town is Mahe, its a tiny 9 Sq Km patch on this planet and to see someone ask how to go there makes me want to jump into the monitor and help you out right away.

I heard the Karnataka side roads are good, however the Kerala side is always junk. Did you get time to follow the thread, Updates, road condition in south india? Check it out. There are new updates there. I planned this route a million times but never really made it because of fear. Yes fear. I went to Leh with my wife and did not get that scared. But to cross these ghat roads especially the forest reserve roads solo, I dont wanna do it. Let me know if you found anything yet, else Ill do some research for you.
