  • Regarding SaddleSore2500k by Iron Butt Association

    Greetings Riders !!

First of all i wanna thank you guys at xbhp for approving my profile and allowing me into the biggest biking community.

The reason i am posting this thread is to know some tips/advice for us since myself and 3 of my friends have planned to attempt the SaddleSore 2500k by Iron Butt Asociation.
We have the following bikes - CBR250R, Karizma ZMR, Pulsar220F and Pulsar 180.
We are planning to attempt this in the last week of Feb.
I am sure there is someone out there who has attempted this challenge, so please give us some inspiration and advice. And also some checkpoints needed to tune our rides for this challenge.
As we stay in Bangalore we are planning to take the Bangalore-Hyderabad-Nagpur stretch.

    Looking forward for your replies

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Anyway, this is not the best route to carry out SS2500K attempt. IMHO, the best route will be...

      Bangalore - Nelamangala - Tumkur - Chitradurga - Hiriyur - Davangere - Haveri - Hubli - Dharwad - Belgaum - Nippani - Kholapur - Nippani - Belgaum - Dharwad - Hublie - Rannebennur - Haveri - Davangere - Hiriyur - Chitradurga - Tumkur - Nelamangala - NICE - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Dharmapuri - Thoppur - Salem - Rasipuram - Namakkal - Karur - Dindigul - Thirumangalam - Virudhunagar - Kovilpatti - Tirunelveli - Kanyakumari - Tirunelveli - Kovilpatti - Virudhunagar - Thirumangalam - Dindigul - Karur - Namakkal - Radipuram - Salem - Thoppur - Dharmapuri - Krishnagiri - Hosur - Bangalore

This stretch is under 6 laning. 75% of the road is 6 laned but construction is not complete as they have finishing work to be done. So I suggest avoiding this stretch. Bangalore to Krishnagiri can take 1.5 hours easily. Instead I would suggest Bangalore - Satara - Bangalore - Hyderabad - Bangalore.

@TS you can do what we did -- only opposite

bangy-panvel (maybe just before lonavla to avoid traffic ahead)-bangy-sriperumbudur-probably a bit ahead & than back to banglore
