    Need help:Chennai-Valparai-Munnar

    hi folks,planning a duo ride to Chennai-Valaparai-Munnar on first week of june..need info on present road conditions,climate,scenic routes and budget hotel stays from bikers who have made any recent trip to these places..Here is my route plan Route:Chennai-Vaniyambadi(NH4)-Krishnagiri-Salem-Tiruppur-Pollachi-Valparai,Valparai-Chalakudy-Angamaly-Kothamangalam-Munnar,Munnar-Theni-Dindugul-Trichy-Perambalur-Villupuram-Chengalpatu-Chennai..any suggestions on alternate routes,stays,places to visit,places or routes to avoid are welcome..

        Thanks for your response..i would consider this route if my first destination is munnar,but valparai is my first destination since i am planning for kodaikanal on my way back from munnar..still il consider your suggestion till salem..my concerns are
        1.Road condition from tindivanam-salem
        2.Km difference in the route you have suggested

            Referred the google maps..and thanks mate..have planned to stick to your suggetion..by the way also need some information on roads between valaparai-chalakudy(via sholayar reservoir)

              After the TN-KL border checkpost ~10 Kms roads are with potholes then and there, but doable. After that it was a blissful ride only.

              P.S.Had done this route a month ago!

                even am doing that trip there is forest area while reaching munnar anyone could give idea on that ??

                  What is the forest area you're talking about? Atleast do some Google before making your post!! I assume you're talking about Marayoor via Dharapuram & Udumalaipet.

                      You should be referring to the route from valparai to chalakudi, i suppose..it is a bliss full route to take..but i would'nt advice you to take that route if you're planning for a.solo ride..if you google it using find directions,you'll not see this route..ask the locals at valaparai to guide you the way to athirapalli falls,unless you have a standalone gps..if you'd like to know more about my triplog on this route,feel free to leave a private message..
