  • Query: Motorcycling in Scotland

    Hi Friends,

I will be in Scotland in the first week of August later this year. I have one-day in hand where nothing is planned as of now. I was thinking of doing a day of biking starting from Edinburgh, start in the morning and return by evening.

Does anyone have any pointers for bike rentals or better still one-day organised tours? I tried searching on the internet and trying through my travel agent as well but not much so far. The only one I have got is Saltire Suzuki based in Edinburgh. Anyone has experience with this dealer?

Also would need tips on what route to take for a day and general guidelines for riding in UK.

    Thanks in advance.

    Keep Riding

Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Hope you did this ride..! Try the ride from Edinburgh - Loch Lomond - Glencoe and back to Edinburgh. Just go with whatever bike is available...even a CBR250R will be perfect as the speed limit is 50mph throughout this route / Scotland. My wife and I did London - Isle of Skye (NW Scotalnd) and back on my Suzuki VStrom 650 in 2012.

Just for one day? Europe - Public transport rocks. Use public transport, do some good site seeing, visit some famous places & come back to India in one piece. Keep the lust of riding in abroad when you will have to stay for longer terms. It's simply not advisable to rent out a motorcycle for a day.
