    Planning Hyderabad-Vizag-Bhubaneswar ride

    Hi all,

    I'm planning to ride from Hyderabad to Bhubaneshwar via Vijaywada-Vizag.I was just looking for some info on road conditions and any tips people may have from their experience on the route.

    Some specific questions are:

    1.How is the beach road in Vizag,is it a good ride? And what would be the best way to approach it(in Vizag).Since it has a Naval Presence,I'm wondering if the routes shown by google maps are accessible to public?

    2.Whats the best route to get to Vizag from Hyderabad? Through Vijayawada or are there better options?

    3.Any must-visit points (food,views,markets) on the way?

    Tentative dates are 25th-26th Dec .I'm planning to cover the distance in two or max 2 and a half days.

      1. Beach road is an excellent road to ride, but not in the evening. No problem with the Naval presence, you can ride anywhere except the Naval Base and Naval Dock yard.
      2. The best road from HYD to Vizag is HYD-Suryapet( NH-9)-Vijayawada-Ravulapalem-Rajahmundry-Vizag (NH-5, now NH-16)HYD-Vijayawada is an excellent 4 lane butter smooth highway, Vijayawada-Rajahundry is a bit bad with occasional pot holes, Rajahmundry - Vizag is ok.

      Go through this below mentioned thread, Sandeep Patnala rode a week ago.

        Thanks for a prompt response! That too from the Fight Back BOTY. Let me congratulate your for that first ! Congrats! :-) .Anyway,beach road being better in the morning works out well for me.I was planning to reach Vizag on day 1.Then leave in the morning covering beach road and reaching BBSR on day 2. I've heard about RK Beach in Vizag so was thinking of staying somewhere close-by and starting from there in the morning. The question is where to join back the NH5? Should i follow beach road right to the end(Bheemili beach acc'ding to google maps) or join back NH5 at Vizag outskirts?

        And thanks for pointing me to Sandeep's thread. :-)

          Thanks forcooler, and i'm attaching a map. you can ride through the Beach road till Sector-11 take left to the MVP Double road(I Marked it with a red line) and join the NH-5, continue to BBSR. BTW if you have time you can meet me at Rajahmnudry, (PM me your Mobile Number if u want to stop )

              Alright thanks for the map! Will follow that route out of vizag.I'll PM you my no. and will try and meet you on they way.However since I'm planning to reach Vizag before evening i may not have the time.Thanks frank.
