  • Details about Ducati award winning Coorg-Ooty-Munnar roads

Guys , I'm riding to Kerala on my KTM Duke 200 from tuesday the 7th. I also plan to visit Coorg and Ooty mainly because I read about the awesomeness of the coorg- ooty - munnar route on xbhp itself , when it won the ducati shell advance award for the best drivable road. When I Google directions from madikeri in coorg to ooty and from ooty to munnar, it shows multiple roads , can someone please tell me , which one won the ducati award ??
Please mention some places on that route so that I can know.

Another question I wanted to ask is whether there is a direct road from munnar to valparai. They are pretty close but Google maps shows a detour with a distance of about 150 km.

See if this link has any details -
I'm unable to check as this website is blocked in office

Edit - If you're still unable to find, follow this route, you won't be disappointed - http://goo.gl/maps/thbgx or a little longer, but absolute scenic - http://goo.gl/maps/G5wMk

Most Gmap routes & places are incorrectly mentioned. Pls take the one I mentioned above or feel free to explore the route you think you should be doing. Either ways you cannot get disappointed as that entire Geography is a MUST ride/drive locality. Since you're riding on 3 different occasions, feel free to explore.

The longer route map mentioned out here is absolutely kick arse. Fantastic route and would love to do it sometime, hadn't even noticed the Munnar to Valparai road properly... Should one expect bad roads there? Thanks a ton.

Saar, bad roads are always part of any journey irrespective of the country. Any journey should have ups & downs.

When speaking of ups & downs, this comes to my mind now...

I think its best to take one of the aforementioned 'Short' or 'Long' routes... Do keep us updated bro, looking forward to read up on your experiences this time... might soon be taking the same road.

                            Cheers n Happy riding.
