  • Delhi to Pushkar, Rajasthan on Discover 100cc

The Bajaj discover I own is of Oct 2009 model a 100cc.
I did quite a few trips ranging from 240-300 km up down.
I am currently residing in Faridabad and want to push my two wheeler a little further.
Planning a trip to Pushkar (about 400km approx).
Hence I need to know whether this bike can pull this up?
What kind of preparations I need and troubles I can face.
Only after a through discussion I am going to kick start the journey.

P.S - It will be a solo ride

Topic Approved & moved to Tour: Planning & Itinerary.

This bike should pull up if you're patient enough to keep speeds in check. Just stay at 60-70 kmph and all should go fine. If you want to do this seriously, then do it. Just keep in mind the following things:

    1. Like Delhi, Rajasthan is equally or maybe more cold. Keep some good heavy clothes with you. Just remember, Pushkar is all desert plains, and this means that the temperature is going to hurt as the winds flow and all.

    2. The way to Pushkar, around Ajmer, is quite confusing. You'll have to go under a flyover instead of above it, and go right side. You'll leave bypass this way towards Ajmer.
Then on, travelling for 2-3 kms towards Ajmer, you'll have to take another right towards MDS University and then on again, you have to go towards Bhagwant University Campus Road & travel from the front of AIT Institute towards the Pushkar road.

I live in Ajmer since years now, so I know this route. You might get confused. Its a complicated route which I can't explain well here. Better keep a good GPS mobile & its application ready.
Or you can call me up and after 5:00, I'm available to your help. I'll help you reach Pushkar.

    3. My suggestion is that you wake up at the earliest, and leave home around 5:00 AM. I know its gonna be cold, but its better to give your bike the benefit of leaving Delhi in cold environment itself.

    4. Delhi to Jaipur highway (around 260 kms) may be in a slightly worse condition. But don't worry, the 6 lane Jaipur to Ajmer highway (around 125 kms) is one of the best roads in this area.

    5. Don't leave for this trip immediately after a service. Wait for some days after a service and examine the vehicle's condition.

Yes bike is capable of doing 80-90 easily continuously without getting stressed.
        I have done 400kms x 4 trips on discover 100
        I can't ride 60-70 on a 400kms journey.( feel sleepy).
Speeds are selected according to traffic.
If possible carry spare tube, toolkit and firstaid kit.
Change engine oil to some good synthetic or semisynthetic.
        And get it serviced.
