Re: Bike Ride from Pangi To Kishtwar
Planning approved!
Shridhar, kindly provide exact details of the places you intend to visit as many might not identify places with just names.
I presume you're talking about Pangi (Himachal Pradesh) to Kishtwar (J&K). Roughly a route of about 630 kms.
Will you be riding from Bangalore?Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.
Because everyone who passes, isn't a martyr!

Re: Bike Ride from Pangi To Kishtwar
Hi,
Thanks for your quick response.
We are 3 friends riding probably from Delhi. We just intend to ride from Pangi(Himachal Pradesh) to Kishtwar(Jammu & Kashmir). We are not looking for any other places rather than the these two places.
As you mentioned it is roughly around 630 Kms. May I request you to provide me the following information as well.
1. ATM
2. Gas Station
3. Medical Facilities
4. Hotels for food
5. Overnight stay on the way.
Is it good to parcel the bikes from Bangalore to Delhi and then ride from Delhi to Pangi(Himachal Pradesh)???
I am still at the early stages of my planning and your help / suggestions will be highly admired.
Thanks,
ShridharLast edited by shridhar.baddur; 05-21-2014, 03:31 PM.

Re: Bike Ride from Pangi To Kishtwar
What are your dates????
BTW,your itinerary would be like this-
Delhi-Chamba
Chamba-Tista-Bairagarh-Satrundi-Sach Pass-Bogotu-Killar.
Killar-Gulabgarh-Kishtwar-Batote
Batote-Pathankot
Pathankot-Delhi
Chamba is last place you can tank up your bikes before Kishtwar. However petrol is available in Killar in black rates.Killar is HQ of Pangi.
Food and stay avaliable in Bogotu in dhaba tents.
Killar has many stay options.
No Atm in Pangi,so withdraw cash at Chamba.
My signature below this post has my ride details to Pangi..you can have better idea of roads and other things so go thru the link.

Entire North receives very heavy torrential rain during July-Aug.Entire HP specially Paangi/Kinnaur are in the grip of torrential heavy rain during monsson.Pangi is very landslide prone area and road blockage are common during monsoon.
July or September...it is your call which month you choose for your trip. Many people ride in July but i personally avoid July.

Re: Bike Ride from Pangi To Kishtwar
You need normal warm clothes for September...Nothing special for winter.
Warm inner,Jacaket,Caps,Sweaters will be enough for winter protection.
