Delhi to Agra should be quite safe, on the expressway. I'm not sure beyond that. Other members will be able to help...

2 night stops would be great. Book tickets in advance, its the festive season and rush will be huge. Don't leave anything to the last minute.

My thoughts
1. Yes. Solo is fine. Only thing to ensure is to cross Jharkhand in daylight. Also, in the late evening Asansol - Durgapur stretch can be a nightmare due to random potholes and barricades. So be careful there. More than being solo, Fog can play spoilsport in January. Do plan accordingly.
2. Stops depend on your speed, stamina and urgency. It took me 27 hours while going (6 hours sleepover included) and while coming back I did around 1.3k in 19 hours, slept for 4 hours and then took another 3 hours (I was on a Duke 390 and fairly fast). If you have time at hand, I would suggest the following.
Delhi - Varanasi --- explore Varanasi for a day --- Varanasi-Kolkata.
3. Lucknow ? Are you planning to go through Bareilly? Better to avoid that. Stick to NH2 after Agra.
Route being Delhi - Agra (Yamuna Expressway) - Kanpur - Allahabad - Varanasi - Kolkata.
Roads are awesome throughout except for the few points.
Agra to Kanpur --> Some 4/6 laning work has screwed the highway near to Kanpur. Otherwise its fine.
Kanpur bypass is a delight. However, wrong side traffic can be an issue.
Allahabad bypass is again a delight. However, its imperative to slow down near the little bridges or you will fly :-)
Varanasi - Allahabad--> has lovely roads but is a potential killer. Too much wrong side traffic.
Varanasi - Sasaram --> is a mix of very good, good and some wavy roads. Near borders, bridges and tolls there are some pain points due to thousands of trucks.
Jharkhand has pristine roads. except for the patch where there is a turn for Patna.
Asansol - Durgapur --> chaotic with potholes, barricades and free for all traffic.
Panagarh - Kolkata --> Beautiful roads.


Places to anchor for the night

Gunjan Resorts - Sirsaganj (Insist on safe parking for the bike. They have a back gate which is secured)
Kanpur Tourist Rest House (This is just a few km after Sengar resort while going to Kolkata. Safe parking for the bike)
Varanasi (Unlimited options I presume)

Safety --> Just keep some essential spares/puncture repair kit/energy snacks(some stretches dont have decent dhabas) and a sane head :-)
