  • Lansdowne to Corbett Route Planning

    Guys,

I am planning to do a Delhi-Lansdowne-Jim Corbett-Delhi in the second week of January spread over 5 days.
I have some doubts over the Lansdowne-Jim Corbett route and Jim Corbett itself if someone ever has made the trip to there.

Now, I am scheduled to check in at one of the forest rest houses in the Dhikala zone at Jim Corbett the entry gate to which is the Dhangari gate.
Google only tells me to reach Ramnagar via Najibabad when searching for "Lansdowne" - "Jim Corbett" (about 150Km), while the Dhangari gate is located inside the forest on NH 121. Googling "Lansdowne" - "Dhangari" on the other hand shows an interesting road. Last entry at Dhangari is at 4PM. You guys will help with a few questions?

    1. Has anyone taken this road? If so, what sort of condition can I expect the road to be in mid-Januarish (snow maybe?)?

    2. Is it compulsarily required to reach the Ramnagar tourist reception centre to enter the forest?

    3. Are bikes allowed till the Dhangari gate? And since I've read somewhere that bikes are not allowed inside the Dhikala zone, will I find parking at/near Dhangari gate?

This road looks absolutely fan-freaking-tastic on google with mountains, forests and what not. It would be a pity not to take it.

    Need help guys.

Some Delhi xBhpians had recently done this route, maybe they might help.
