  • Mumbai - Goa - Karnataka - Kerala - TN - Andhra - Orisaa - Kolkata

    Hi Everyone,
A friend of mine and I will be touring across the coast (and inland too) starting 26 Dec from Mumbai.
We are on a Royal Enfield Classic 350. We are carrying tents and sleeping bags plan to camp at various sites during the journey.

As of now we have not decided on a plan, and our only constrain is to reach Kolkata by 20 Jan.

From Mumbai, we leave for Sunburn, attend a day or 2 there, and then rush to south goa. Will camp at isolated beach there (arrosim or utorda) and leave goa on 2nd.
After that, we haven't decided on much yet.

This forum is full of invaluable experiences of riders, and we will need that throughout our trip.

Any suggestions on which route to take, which places to visit are highly welcomed.
Note about ourselves - We are not interested in going to crowded place (after Goa, that is), and popular tourist destinations (we have been to most of them before).
We are looking for visiting lesser known places, hiking & camping at beautiful spots.

Places that I have in my mind are
Gokarna, Badami, Hampi, Kundremukh. Also Ooty & Munnar (I know these are popular destinations, but we could not visit them in our last trip, plus these are awesome locations to camp at).

Our main focus right now is Western Coast (because we don't have enough time to explore both coasts), and corresponding inland spots.

To get things rolling, I need to know where should we halt while going to Goa. We will be taking the Murud, Ratnagiri route.

    Thanks for reading this.
Will try my best to make a good travelogue out of this.
    Cheers

    Topic Approved.

There's hardly any time. The route you're taking is going to take around 10-14 days anyhow. Means you'll have to start from around 5-7 Jan, 2014, which means you have about 15 days for the hotel planning, route planning, etc. For such a trip, planning in advance would've been great, but anyways...

You better hurry up. And don't leave things unplanned in a rush. Skip places if you have to, just don't leave things in a rush, and keep alternative for everything.

Thanks for approving the topic Samarth. I know we are short on planning and hence the thread here.
As you mentioned, we might skip places whenever needed to. Just trying to figure out which locations can or cannot be skipped on the tour.

We will be starting on 2/3 Jan from goa, so it will allow us to actually stay for a day or two at a few spots.

Couldn't agree more on not leaving in rush and keeping alternatives.

Is the thread topic really absurd or did everyone missed it somehow? Slightly disappointed
