What you guys are doing is starting at West end, coming down to South & then again going to North & then towards West & then again to North; instead I would suggest dropping Amritsar for now & do entire RJ for time being, JUST A SUGGESTION, that's all. That way, you can visit Ranthambore, if you like to. OR, drop off Jaipur from your list & visit Amritsar.

Ideally would suggest to start at Udaipur, then travel northwards & from my little experience, there isn't much in Jaipur except Bhangarh, which is 75 Km from Jaipur.

You also left Chittorgarh fort, which is a must visit; all other places you've mentioned are good enough. Also pls note, Sep is going to be a season of rains in RJ, so, expect rains everywhere except Jaisalmer

Jaisalmer to Amritsar, alternate route is via Bikaner - Hanumangarh.

Hello Abhay, all the best for ur trip.
I agree with Aargee. If u start from udaipur instead of Jaipur that saves a lot of time & gives advantage to visit more places. Also in sep lot of rain in RJ & PB. U may experience rain in jsm too. Overall ur cruising speed reduces & may experience traffic jams due to water loggings few places on highways.

Instead of jsm-sri ganganagar-amritsar, take jsm-bikaner-ajmer(pushkar)-jpr-delhi-chandigarh-amritsar. From amritsar u can book direct flight back to mysore or BLR. Give it a thought.

Few tips & places of visit:
Udaipur in & ard -: If i remember correct, no tkts available for boating in Lake Pichola after 12pm. U can do evening boating in fateh sagar lake though. City palace udaipur is a must see. Try visiting mansa purn karni Mata temple, the view of lake pichola & udaipir city is awesome. If u r planning nathdwara then also visit ekling & haldighati too. Chittorgarh & kumbalgarh is must see again. Don't just pass by kumalgarh. Its worth spending a day long.

Baba ramdev temple near pokhran: pls visit this place. PS: its not yog guru baba ramdev.

In Jaipur: Visit hawa mahal & govind Dev ji temple. Stop by Jal mahal for few snaps & visit nahar garh fort to have a good view of Jpr city. U can skip amber fort & Jpr city palace. No city palace in RJ is worth seeing once u see udaipur's. Same as with Kumbalgarh & mehrangarh, most beautiful forts in RJ. Don't forget to try Rawat's yummy onion kachori.

As per my understanding visiting ranthambore is not worth in sep, coz u can hardly see tigers. But u can see lots of greenery.

Jaisalmer: visit the ruins of kuldhara (btw SAM & jsm) & royal chhatris (on the way to Tannor).

Jodhpur: u can visit umed palace and Mandore (sasural of Lankesh) if time permits. Else Meherangarh & jaswant thada r enough.

        Happy & safe riding.

            Hi Sirish and Aargee,

I checked rainfall during the months of September in internet and it shows figures from 75-150 mm. By looking at figures I'm not able to understand whether its really difficult to ride or is it occasional rains. If it rains a lot then it will be difficult. Bit confused whether to carry on with this schedule .

Our journey is almost like a round trip; Jaipur-Jaipur. We are three in number and one of my friend is planning to get rented bike from Jaipur with help of one of our colleague from Jaipur. Otherwise, we could have stopped at Chandigarh itself like you suggested.

Thanks for the suggestion on places to visit

            Thanks & Regards,
            Abhay Krishnan
