As a carburettor system, at high altitude (like Gurudongmar Lake 17000ft+, Nathula Pass 15000ft+) the oxygen in the air is very low, my bike couldn't breath properly, I had to remove the air filter cover at midway, but the problem continued. Whenever I apply the clutch for down-slope tight hairpins (both brakes are tapped for gradual downward movement with controlled balance), the bike automatically was getting stopped due to this breathing issues. I had to keep a 10-11mm wrench with me for adjusting the idle rpm at higher level sometimes.
After this Sikkim Trip, I had to change Air Filter, Spark Plug, Intake & Exhaust Valves, Brake shoe. Clutchplate is worn a little bit.
Now the question is... Can I take my Yamaha Fazer to Leh-Ladakh trip? Will Breathing problem be more? Or, I have to buy a FI- System bike then.
Please suggest.
