  • Hyderabad to Varanasi

    Hi Bhpians,

I am planning for long trip from Hyderabad to Varanasi through NH7 in March at around 18 or 19. I have been going through all the travelogues in xbhp forums and on google. What I found till now is:

    • Hyderabad to Nagpur - roads are good with some exceptions near nagpur where there are few patches of potholed roads.
    • Nagpur to Jabalpur - I have mixed reviews on these roads.
    • Since the posts are old(2010-11) I am assuming that some developments in roads would have happened in recent years.
    • Jabalpur - Rewa - Varanasi - All I could get is some old posts (2009 - 2013) which says that Roads are in very bad condition.
    • Safety - I have heard mixed opinion on the safety on roads in MP region. What areas should I avoid and any suggestion on alternate but safer route.

Any suggestion is welcome. Pls guide.

      Re: Hyderabad to Varanasi

      thanks monk for the mention.

knight_rider - last week i rode for about 55 kms on NH 7 (dramandganj to mirzapur) which will be part of your ride from rewa to varanasi on NH7...the road varies from being very bad to pretty good...there were a couple of patches for a few kms where the road condition was very good, and then there were some patches where the condition was very bad...most of those 55 kms worth of road varied from decent to moderately bad on an average...i saw road carpeting and construction going on or about to be started in some places though...

some of my friends have gone to jabalpur from allahabad a couple of times in the last two years by car and they found the NH7 road from rewa to jabalpur to be very good, and and according to one of them who likes going via bus from allahabad to his hometown mumbai :P, the jabalpur to nagpur part of NH7 is also very good...i have no idea even based on hearsay about the parts from rewa to dramandganj, and mirzapur to varanasi...

Thanks mods for approving this thread . Thanks aditya.By what you say, I believe that most of the section is good and very much drivable. That relieves me of my tension. I was very concerned on jabalpur to Varanasi section as in few old posts I read that most travellers saying there were literary no roads in this section. I will update the updates on the entire hyderabad - Varanasi section once I complete my journey in this thread
