Re: Advice for a trip
Query Approved
You plan to do such a long ride and you post here with a one line query! Have you done any research at all? Members are here to help you out, but at least do some homework and post exact queries.
You expect people to put in an effort to take time out and reply to you, while you are unwilling to type out anything more than a single sentence!Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!
Give your details here if you want to help your fellow xBhpian stranded in your city

Re: Advice for a trip
I'm planning to ride from coimbatore to new delhi on my AS200 need some advice on routes and trip
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
how many days are you planning for and what kinda route you need ?
you have just left everyone blank..
no dates
no route
just a simple information about you , your bike and the city you will be leaving from ...
just a small get on google maps and search for the route and if u have days to spare then get a route where you can get to meet and see other places.

What to expect on the first road trip (5000km)
Hey I'm dinesh, I own a Pulsar AS200. I have done some short roadtrips 500km per day for 3 days in my old bike Pulsar150. This time I'm planning a roadtrip from Tamil Nadu to New Delhi. Approximately its 2500km one way, so I need(request) you guys to help me out with routes, troubleshoot in bikes, pit stops, stays, etc

Hi Dinesh. This is a forum and not a route planning service/travel agency to get things done to you for free..Originally posted by Dinesh Lone Rider View PostHey I'm dinesh, I own a Pulsar AS200. Please do your home work and then xbhpians will be happy to help you with bits & nits.
To start with read travelogues to get an idea. Fix your travel dates, Select a route, Plan to cover ~400kms per day to be comfortable, search for hotels in the place to stay over night etc etc..
Sorry if you think I'm a bit harsh.Ride Safe!
Cheers,

Re: What to expect on the first road trip (5000km)
Assuming this is the first time you are doing this route, better to stick to the Golden Quadrilateral. TN-BLR-Mumbai-Delhi.Originally posted by Dinesh Lone Rider View PostHey I'm dinesh, I own a Pulsar AS200. I have done some short roadtrips 500km per day for 3 days in my old bike Pulsar150. TN to BLR is dependent on where you stay in TN. BLR to Mumbai is one straight road. Mumbai to Delhi, preferably read through some of the threads on this route on the forum and on team-bhp. It is a very common route with dedicated threads to it. For starters you shall be doing Mumbai - Vadodara - Ahmedabad - Udaipur Bypass - Kishangarh - jaipur - delhi.
For night stops probably you can do the following
TN - BLR
BLR - Pune (12/14 hrs)
Pune - Vadodara/Ahmedabad
vad/ahm - udaipur/ajmer
udaipur/ajmer - delhi.
Don't worry too much about night stops. It is one of the busiest routes in India and lots of options are there.
For bike maintenance, there are some dedicated threads on long rides bike checks.
Since the route is simple and help is around everywhere, I would say just do the following.
1. A full service before ride and ensure that things like disc pads/chainsets/tyres/speedo&clutch wires are not near the end of their life.
2. Tubeless repair kit in case you have tubeless tyres. Carry a spare tube in case its a tubed tyre. Also, a foot pump will be a good thing to carry.
3. Chain lube & a bit of engine oil - just in case.
Ride safe!
