    Delhi to Nainital route

    Good Morning fellows

    Me n my begum are planning a trip to Nainital on our CBR 250R on this weekend. Please suggest a route where the roads are in good condition & the route is safe to travel with begum.
    I have done some googling & have found four routes. Please suggest the best one. During my earlier trips to Nainital, I've always taken route 4 driving my car whether it was '99 Zen, or '03 Santro' or '11 i10, or mom's '14 Cruze.
    If anyone is interested for a 2 day trip to Nainital & Kausani, you're welcome to join. Will be leaving Gurgaon @ 4am on 30th April & back home next month i.e. 2nd May.

    Route 1:
    Delhi - ghaziabad - hapur - garhmukteshwar - moradabad - rampur - kaladhungi - nainital

    Route 2:
    Delhi - noida - greater noida - bulandshahar - sambhal - moradabad - rampur - kaladhungi - nainital

    Route 3:
    Delhi - ghaziabad - meerut - mawana - bijnore - dhampur - kashipur - ramnagar - kaladhungi - nainital

    Route 4:
    Delhi - ghaziabad - hapur - garhmukteshwar - moradabad - rampur - bilaspur - rudrapur - pantnagar - haldwani - kathgodam - nainital

      I think the 4rth one is the shortest and pretty smooth and straight uptill Rampur.

      The route from Rampur to Rudrapur got a lot of broken patches/ undulations/ traffic.
      I got really tired on Thunderbird 350, a Cbr 250 should fare better.

      I would suggest not to do that stretch in dark as it goes through forest area + no lighting + heavy vehicular traffic + bad roads.
      And also after haldwani hilly region starts so the road is twisting and winding with only your headlight to guide you.


      I did this route earlier this month but upto haldwani.

        Route 4 is good and also the best among the rest, because road from "Haldwani to Nainital" is much better than "Kaladhungi to Nainital".
        Although if you want to enjoy more curves and narrow road than you can opt for " Kaladhungi to Nainital ".
        And also road from Rampur to Rudrapur is not that bad, you can easily maintain 60-80 kmph .

        How I know this, well I live in Haldwani and almost every weekend ride to hills!!!

            Somehow, the trip got postponed ... Will be leaving GGN tomorrow i.e. 10th July for Nainital, Kausani, & Almora ... Anyone interested ...??? Welcome to join us ...!!! Will be back by 12th night ...!!!

              Hi Jatin Arya, Please let me know the latest road condition from Rampur to bilaspur to rudrapur. Planning a trip to nainital in November. Also heard that there is an alternate route from Rampur. ie. Rampur- kemri- bilaspur- rudrapur. Please suggest..........

                Sorry for the delay buddy, kemri route was much much better than the straight rampur-bilaspur route some 6months back.
                Almost nill potholes(6 months back).

                If you want I can confirm the same on this Sunday(by riding again on that route) [emoji6]
