    Hello all!!

    I need few information regarding my route planning to Nagaland. I have decided on the routehttps://www.google.co.in/maps/dir/Gu...7496!3e0?hl=en
    I just want to know the present road scenario & whether it's safe to ride there alone.

    Thanks,

    Ritabroto

      Hi Ritabroto. I have travelled upto dimapur via this route. Road condition is average. You can also bypass from raha to dimapur which eventually merges to your route. It will be little shorter that way. Travelling can be done alone during day time. Night riding should be avoided. Better plan during Hornbill feativel. Many tourist take this route in early december. Then you may easily tail some other tourist and reach safely during night.

        Thanks NE_Days. I wish I could go to Hornbill. But I will not get leave. Maybe next time. I will keep your advise in mind. BTW are you from GHY? If yes then we can plan a trip/meet also. What do say?

        Regards,

          I haven't gone till Dimapur but i found the road is good from Guwahati to Nagaon. And as NE_Days said, avoid travel in Night.

              Re: Route planning[Guwahati->Dimapur->Kohima]

              Just completed the Guwahati>Dimapur>Guwahati circuit. This was my entire route- https://www.google.co.in/maps/dir/Gu...9173!3e0?hl=en

              1. The road after Manja to Dimapur is extremely bad. It took me nearly 1.5hrs to cover that road. Apart from that the road which got divided from NH & turns to Doboka, the whole road is densely populated hence one has to be extra cautious. Adding to this also bad road, deep pot holes here & there.(There were 3 rim bending experience because of this).
              Pros-Less traffic. In most of roads I was riding all alone.(Partly because it was morning, demonetizing effect may be)
              Cons- Bad road,populated area-expect cattle to be wandering in the road.

              2. The road which is coming through Kaziranga, numaligarh is pretty good(single road though). But after Garampani the road is not that good till bokajan.
              IMHO one should take the Kaziranga-Numaligarh route because of the scenic beauty.
              Pros- Good road, awesome scenic beauty
              Cons- Time consuming, high traffic movement(because the road is connecting Dibrugarh, Jorhat, Tinsukia with Guwahati plus Kaziranga national park).

              Happy Riding!!!!
