  • Ride to jaisalmer

    Hi All!
I am planning to ride till jaisalmer @ last week of this month (fom gurgaon). I have planned to ride till jodhpur on the first day from gurgaon (starting @ 6AM). It is about 600 kmts and I dont want to ride at night i.e. I will have to cover the distance wihin 12 hours. I will be using a V1 karizma R. Is it a viable option? Can I ride 600 kmts on a single day on karizma? Till now I have done a maximum of 400 kmts and that was tiring (specially for my bum).

Also, my plans are as follows:
    26th jan - start 6 AM : Reach Jodhpur till 6 PM.
    27th - Jodhpur tour
28th jan- visit one or two attractions in Jaipur and head to Jaisalmer @ 11:30 AM - 12Noon and reach jaisalmer till 6PM.
    29th - Jaisalmer tour.
30th Jan - visit one or two attractions in Jaisalmer and head to Bikaner @ 11:30 AM - 12Noon and reach Bikaner till 6PM.
31st Jan - Leave Bikaner @ 6 AM and reach gurgaon till 6 PM.
Is it a good plan? Any suggestion/Changes are welcome.

    The route I have chosen - GURGAON > Neemrana > Jaipur > Ajmer > Beawar > Bilara > JODHPUR > Osian > Pokhran > JAISALMER > Pokhran > Phalori > Gajner > BIKANER > Fatehpur > Sikar > Kotputli > Gurgaon.
Is it a good route plan? Any changes are welcome. Our priority is fastest route with good roads (no potholes).

EDIT : Slight change in plans : 25 th 4 PM : Ride to Jaipur and 26th jan - start 6 AM : Reach Jodhpur till 1 PM.

    Query Approved

If you found 400km tiring, then how will you manage 600 km?

That being said, yes it is very much doable. But will it be enjoyable?
Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

        Hello Rohit,

I can only see the Yamaha R15 and the Yamaha Enticer.

Did you use the v1 Karizma R as you mentioned previously?
Also, how successful was the bike trip? Did it go as planned?

        Cheers!

          Hi Zincha,
Yes, I did not take the karizma as it's brake calliper was rendered useless (long story) and I could not source the original part in time (I dont like using anything except the original parts). I took brand new avenger 220 cruise (only 1k on odo; desert storm colour; no its not yamaha enticer) and my friend was using r15V2.
The trip was very successful. Everything went as planned except day two when we were stuck in jaipur till 1P.M. due to rain (we were supposed to leave at 6 A.M.) and reached Jodhpur at 7 P.M. and lost one full day so had only one day left for 'Jodhpur Bhraman' insted of originally planned 2 days. Also, while returning from Bikaner, we chose Fatehpur >Jhunjhunu>Loharu> Jhajjar route which proved to be a mistake as first 30 Kmts from Fatehpur to Jhunjhunu were disgusting (the surface area of potholes were more than the surface area of thr road - literally) and the rest of the part was also not good (had to maitain slow speed as the route passes through numerous villages/towns and roads too were not great) which led to delay and we had to ride 2 hours in dark (no street lights) among heavy truck traffic on high beam in haryana (many trucks were using additional two extra bright auxiliary headlamps- all on high beam which made overtaking difficult on single lane (one side) roads with no divider for the oncoming traffic).
Except these two, the trip was super successful and super awesome. We chose the newly build highway through Osian to reach Jaisalmer from Jodhpur which was superr smooth (I get dreams about that route-orgasmic!).
Ohh, one more thing - Phalodi to Bikaner highway had work going on at many places which was full of dust.
Total trip was of 2300kmts (also visited Tanot, longewala and few more extra places).

Hey man! Congratulations once again. I really liked that you enjoyed the Highway Ride. Hopefully, you get the Karizma fixed at the earliest and post more travelogues with it.

            Cheers Rohit!
